Vehicle Detail
This Wonderful Vacation Camper Van Needs A New Home The time has come for us to sell our Neptune-blue1989 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia, in very-good-to-excellent condition. All the usual useful Westfalia features are present, including the pop-top (you can stand up in it), stove, sink, two multi-use tables, two beds that together can sleep four, swiveling front seats, air-conditioning, a full set of curtains for complete privacy, Plexiglas skylight/roof vent, several 110ac outlets, as well as many cubbies, bins, and cabinets. The interior looks new, and the upper and lower berths are pristine. The fridge is immaculate, and the sink and the stove are unused (when camping, we would cook our food outdoors on a hibachi grill – hibachi included, if you so desire). No-one has ever smoked in this van, and the ash-tray is as new, but for some coin scratches. There is no body or chassis rust (a California vehicle, never driven in snow), and it has the rare and desirable automatic transmission. Lightly used for family outings, it has only 58,222 miles on it, and shows only the most minimal wear and tear. It is mechanically sound and runs well. The automatic transmission shifts cleanly, and the air conditioning works. We are only the second owners of this van, and have owned it since 1996. Copies of all receipts from 1996 forward are included, and show a history of conscientious use, including all scheduled maintenance. All three of the original owner’s manuals are included, including the Vanagon-specific one. The only flaws of consequence are an easily-repairable three-inch tear in the right-side canvas of the pop-top, a malfunctioning engine coolant temperature (ECT) dash-board light (there is an engine temperature gauge to give a more exact reading), plus some minor body damage (visible in the photos) and some small areas in need of repainting. Service History You can drive this Vanagon Westfalia with confidence, knowing that it has recently been treated to the following maintenance items: July of 2014, 56,881 miles: * A new alternator * A new battery * A fresh charge of Freon * A new fuel-pressure regulator February of 2014, 56,661 miles: * Rebuilt left and right axle assemblies * A new starter and starter relay * New windshield wipers August of 2013, 56,000 miles: * Oil change, 5-30 synthetic blend July of 2013: * New mosquito netting * A new GoWesty bronze-color skylight * A new skylight sunshade Somewhat less recently, the van has also received the following: April of 2011: * New fuel-line February of 2010, 53,618 miles: * New muffler, muffler strap, and tail-pipe * New ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor * New coolant bottle and water bottle September of 2009, 53,018: * New brake pads and rotors * New engine accessory belts * New thermostat and ECT sensor * New front wheel bearings April of 1999, 42,866 mile: * Tuttle rebuilt engine installed Thanks for reading all the way through this description: we hope that you found it informative and intriguing.
