2004 Land Rover Discovery SE - NO RESERVE 85,450 miles Car being sold "AS IS"...no representations or warranties. Buyer MUST pay $500.00 deposit within 24 hours.DO NOT BID, if YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT!DO NOT BID, if YOU REALLY DO KNOW NOT IF YOU WANT a LAND ROVER! Background I am the second owner of this Disco (my 3rd to date and far and away my favorite). Previous owner was an elderly couple from San Antonio who traded it in to LR San Antonio in 2010 at the end of the warranty period. Texas truck with little to no corrosion, the axles still had the factory assembly stickers in pristine condition when I took delivery. Since then this car has spent the majority of its time in a DC garage and on I-95. LRNA maintenance records run through to my purchase in 2010 with ~50k miles. I have done maintenance since then in accordance with recommended intervals and my own sound judgment. Maintenance/Upgrades Tom Woods greasable front driveshaft @60k Power steering pump replaced @65k Michelin LT tires @65k Magnacor 8mm wires and NGK plugs @70k Akebono brakes pads and new rotors @70k 180 degree thermostat installed to lower temps in slow/hot conditions (original included in sale) Heated seats added/enabled BlitzSafe Ipod/Iphone adapter Sunroof trays dropped and re-sealed - 04/2014 Headliner replaced 05/2014 Castrol high mileage in the winter, Rotella otherwise Transfer case fluid swapped @70k Brand New Battery 1/24/15 Condition Interior The interior is of this car is in great shape, with the only exceptions being some wear on the top of the steering wheel leather and a small leather tear on the back of the PS seat that was professionally repaired by the original owner. The repair has subsequently become a little brittle and loose, but it is minor (see pic). Otherwise the interior is in great shape, with little wear/tear – this has primarily been a 1-person vehicle. The seats have been regularly treated with Lexol cleaner and conditioner. The headliner was replaced in May 2014. LR must have had a really bad glue guy, because every 04’ I’ve seen has had some serious drooping going on. The replacement fabric has a nicer texture, but is admittedly a littler darker/browner than the stock fabric. I have grown to like it a lot, see the photos for more detail. Some other important interior points: The plastic blanking plate next to the drivers head went missing in the headliner replacement, it is a very cheap part to pick up on ebay/etc. (again see pic) The right horn button is prone to popping out; one of the four plastic “feet” is broken. Again, these can be found easily and cheaply. I would highly recommend eventually replacing it. The HVAC fan intermittently squeaks on certain speedsThe sunroof drain pans were cleaned and re-sealed after a slow leak in heavy rain was noticed in the old headliner. I have not seen any since the new liner, but I cannot guarantee that the issue is 100% gone. Exterior The exterior is also in good shape, but this is also a 10-year-old vehicle so please calibrate your expectations accordingly. The car had a few dings and scratches when I got it in 2010, and has gotten a few since then. None of them are glaring, and all in all the body on this truck is in great shape. Please see the photos for blemishes. Also the lower bumper light on the driver’s side has some water in it. This has not affected its operation, and I have been too busy to deal with it. The truck has a class 3 hitch, and the factory OEM round plug to flat-plug converter is included. Mechanical This rover's drivetrain is smooth, and the driveshaft update alleviated any concerns about durability. I have taken it in sand and snow several times and been consistently pleased with the performance. The biggest item that I must point out is that the engine appears to have the 4.6L moving liner issue that is so prevalent in the 03-04s. For those unfamiliar – essentially some of the liners move a little when the engine warms up and create a ticking, not unlike the sound of a diesel engine. It has not affected how I drive the truck, and I would not hesitate to drive it across the country as it is. Many have solved the issue by pinning their liners or sourcing a new top-hatted block. It is my understanding that this issue will eventually need to be addressed, so please understand that before bidding. TiresThe tires are Michelin Latitudes, and have been regularly rotated since their purchase. The spare is an OEM Goodyear Wrangler HP (the tires it came with from the factory) Roof Rack I am including in the sale a KVT “backpack” rack, which is essentially a half roof rack custom made for Discoverys. The rack is in good shape, and is a highly sought after aftermarket accessory featuring a Hi-Lift jack mount and aluminum flooring. Unfortunately I have misplaced the clamps for it, but they are very similar to the Safety Devices/Voyager Racks ones (and can even be homemade fairly easily). Photo of rack included in gallery. ------Also includes:BlitzSafe Ipod Adapter – this uses the CD player’s connection to the head unit, so the CD player is currently disconnected. Works with 30 pin apple products, and lightning connector products. 30 pin to lighting adapter not included, so bring your own.New bottle jack – the Italian one the car came with was completely uselessLR tool kit. I highly recommend using your own breaker bar for the lug nut wrench, as the kit one is horrendous. 0 0 1 49 280 Quad Dealstreaker LLC 2 1 328 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE
