Vehicle Detail
RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED AND ADDITIONAL PICTURES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO SHOW THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. This Willys has been in my family for over 45 years. My dad restored it in the '60's and it has been warehoused for about 40 years. A couple of years ago I found a recently rebuilt Willys motor that was running good and dropped it into this Jeep instead of rebuilding the old motor. I have too many four wheel drive vehicles and have decided that someone else may get more enjoyment out of it than I will. To the best of my knowledge, the biggest problem is that the tires are old and will need to be replaced. Otherwise the little rust that is on the Jeep is primarily in the floorboard area and just surface deep. I have been told by Willys fans that this is one of the best 1947's out there. The front seats are believed to be from a '60's model muscle car, Camaro or Firebird likely. The hard top was custom built and I have the fabric doors and center insert that are not pictured. A Couple of notes: 1. I don't have any idea how many miles is on it although I had to put something in the mileage box on the form. 2. Mississippi didn't start title-ing vehicles until July of 1969 so there is no title just Bill of Sale. It's a very fun vehicle. Good luck bidding! On Jan-09-15 at 07:32:10 PST, seller added the following information: I was asked if it could be driven home or needs to be hauled on a trailer. Here's my response: It is running and great for use on the farm and around the neighborhood but this is not an open highway vehicle. The top speed is 40-45 mph. The brakes are not very good but because I always putt around in it its never been much of an issue for me. Also as I stated in the description the tires will need to be replaced. They look almost new as far as the tread is concerned but they are very old recaps and wouldn't withstand the road. It needs to be picked up on a flatbed. I brought it up from MS on a standard dual axle 20' trailer.
