Vehicle Detail
I am selling one very nice, original, clean 1988 Honda Fourtrax TRX250r. The bike has low hours and is all original, aside from a few very small things which I will note below. The machine came from the California High Desert, and as such, did not see many rocks, mud, snow or trees. I am the second owner, and I bought it for my collection - and not to ride. It is not restored or re-done, aside from some good clean up and detailing (and with the help of some tasty beer in the evening). This bike is suitable for a collector (or a rider), and is in what I would call Super nice (something like "near mint", but I hate the phrase, as too many people over use it on eBay) condition. However, for its age, it does have some small flaws and signs of use and use, but overall it looks very, very, nice. And you probably know, but it is near impossible to find one in this shape. Specifics and details:The OEM plastic is in really, really good shape. Virtually no spider cracking, and it looks really nice. No cracks. If you know your Fourtrax TRX 250r's, then you know that just about every bike suffers from this ailment, so it is rare when one like this comes along Fenders are NOT trimmed or cutSeat has a few smaller black stains in it, but they are not a big deal. See pics - NO rips I replaced the 3 number plate decals with OEM Replicas - they look nice The tires are in very good shape, both front and rear are around 85% and rims have proper period correct date stamps Includes the original condition OEM tool kit, owner manual, service manual and California title Frame looks good and does not have a ton of wear (though it does have some normal wear on the shifter side) The bottom of the bike (skid plates, frame rails) look really good and have not had many (if any) hard hits - see pics This bike is very nice, and very clean. I would rate it at a 9 out of 10. It is in rare un-restored condition...There is a tiny chip in the lower counter shaft sprocket cover bolt - it is not noticeable and the bolt still threads in near perfectly - but it does appear the bike threw a chain at one point and did some light damage to the ear on the bolt lower hole for the sprocket guard. I could not get a good picture of it, but it is a few centimeters showing on the bottom. Not a big deal and not noticeable, but worth mentioning. Sprocket cover still bolts on without issue.Clutch cable is getting near the end of its adjustment. Clutch works fine, no slipping though The only Non OEM Parts are as follows:Chain and sprockets were replaced for desert riding, and the bike has a 39 tooth rear (hardly noticeable). K&N Air Filter (Air Box lid still in place, so you can not see air filter) TM Design Works chain rubber / chain block (looks OEM, not noticeable)There is a fuel filter in OEM fuel line I did powdercoat the swinger skid plate and exhaust heat shield - just to keep it looking really nice Missing the springs and cotter pins for the foot pegs, but that is hardly noticeable. The bike had nerf bars at one point. Overall this is a super nice unrestored unmolested bike with a few very tiny knicks, but nothing major. There might have been some small scuffs or something I missed, so please look real close at the pics, but the bike is nice. Sold strictly as is, so please look closely at photos and feel free to ask any questions. If you live in Southern California I can transport this down to you for $150 gas fee. If you are an international buyer, please see below for more details, but I can work with you. The boring stuff (but please read):Shipping: I suggest you use Daily Direct for transport. Their phone number is 888-haulbikes, and they are professionals with a strong track record of moving expensive and nice motorcycles. They offer door to door INSURED roll on and roll off service. I can normally ship coast to coast with them for $525. I can and will ship international, but the buyer must coordinate this, as the process can be cumbersome. I will assist as best as possible and do have really good access to shippers to the UK, Europe and Australia. I can also ship to the middle east as well. But please note that all paperwork will be handled by the buyer. I dont do paperwork very well. Seller Notes: If you are a serious buyer and have the money in hand, I am happy to talk to you on the phone about whatever questions or interest you have in the bikes. But please, no time wasters or tire kickers. If you are a serious buyer, it is available to be shown, but I am not looking for tire kickers or time wasters. The bike is located in Northern California. Payment: A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of closing, or a friendly phone call or clear email on who you are and how you intend to close the deal. I am very easy to work with, but a little clear communication goes a long way with me. Paypal is fine for deposit, but the fee and commission they take is very high. Cash is preferred, but we will take payment however is easiest for you for to send, as we understand that some buyers might be out of the country. Cash, wire transfer, bank check, Paypal, WU, Carrier Pidgin - whatever - but as long as it clears our bank and you are not playing the Nigerian lottery with me, I could care less how it comes. My bikes are always for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time if a local buyer comes forward. In case you are wondering anything about me as a seller, I have been on eBay since 1998 (thats over 16 years) and have not one negative feedback. I am just a nut for older dirt bikes and ATV's from the 1980's. I have a nice collection of bikes that I have built up over 15 years of collecting and messing about. I have several others that I am selling, including several 85 - 86 250r's and 350x's, as well as a few quads. See my other listings for some more of my stuff, but I doubt I will get around to listing all of them. I also have a matching 1985 350x that is in similar to slightly better shape which I will try to list in the next few days.
