You are bidding on a 1974 Honda Trail 70 (manufacture date 1/74) that has been completely rebuilt. There isn't another one like it on eBay. The bike was fully disassembled, the body was completely blasted to bare metal (no rust) and it was then powder-coated with a candy teal metallic. All of the gray metallic parts (like the wheel hubs) were blasted and powder-coated as well. The wheel rims are polished and not painted. Most of the original chrome parts (like the fenders, shields, handlebars and luggage rack) were just polished and reused because they were near perfect. The following were all replaced with new parts: Seat, lights, wiring harness, switches, battery, tires and tubes, gas tank, muffler, control cables, footpegs, badges, decals and trim, brake rotors, calipers, pads and lines, drive chain. Basically the only things carried over were the body, swing-arm, wheels, handlebars, switch housings, upper fork tree and large chrome parts. And its had some other upgrades. Notice it has real turn signals, unlike many of the the originals. It also has the later Trail 70 front forks and it has beefier rear ride-height adjustable coil-over shocks. Also included are the two screw-in chrome rear view mirrors (not pictured). It gets better. The bike also received a brand new 125cc electric start engine with a 4-speed manual transmission, which develops far more power than the original 70cc Honda engine. And it is much more reliable and trouble-free because it has electric start and electronic ignition (no more points and condenser). No tune ups, just routine oil changes and ride it. If you were lucky enough to own one of these as a kid, you will recall it was lacking power and kick-starting was a pain in the butt. Both problems are solved here AND this one will run 50+ mph with a smiling adult onboard. (It does have the kick start also.) And notice it doesn't have the old-style front drum brake. It has an upgraded front disc brake because where there's more power there needs to be better braking. So for you Honda purists, keep shopping. This is a resto-mod....all the original flair but with modern-day mojo: Paint (powder), reliability and power. I suppose you could easily install a Honda engine back in if you were so inclined. This is a beautiful little scooter that starts quickly and runs great and needs no apologies. It has 33 miles on it since the rebuild and has been garaged, never wet and adult-driven ONLY. (Mileage may change if locals come check it out.) If you are looking for a spotless, eye-popping pit bike or a scooter to carry in your RV, this is it. The power, braking and suspension upgrades make it more suitable for adults than the originals. If you are looking for a toy for your kids, just recognize this has considerably more power than the original Trail 70s or the weedeater-powered minibikes you see on Craigslist. Without adult supervision, there will be blood. Bike is sold on a bill of sale and has the original Honda VIN data plate which matches the factory VIN stamped into the steel body.
