Vehicle Detail
Alas, it has come time to sell my beloved Lynette. Unfortunately, with work piling up around me and with the train being a better mode of transportation into the city, I am not able to drive as much as I used to, so I am seeking a good home for her. She is a base-model (lightest!) 2005 MINI Cooper S. Clean CarFax and title in my name, in hand. I still have the original window sticker. Florida car through most of its life (~2009). I have owned the car since February 26, 2011 and am the third owner. I bought the car with about 68,000 miles and have gone through all the typical MINI problems that crop up around that mileage mark. That being said, I always sought to improve performance when I could. To that end, the following modifications were performed (not necessarily in this order): Engine/Transmission - ALTA V.2 17% supercharger reduction pulley - Ported stainless steel OBX 4-2-1 header (eliminated the troublesome pre-cat) with 2.5" merge collector - Custom flow-through 2.5" catback exhaust with 2.25" stainless Magnaflow tips - Helix 440cc injectors - MINI Mania cold-air, cowl-induction intake - SAMCO Sport silicone intake tube - Detroit Tuned bypass valve - NGK BKR7ES copper spark plugs - PRW FluidGel crankshaft pulley/damper (standard size) - Revolution MINI Works flash tune by Jan performed at Chris Schuh Motorsports on a DynoDynamics Dyno - 222 WHP/212 ft/lbs - Powerflex polyurethane engine torque arm bushings - "Rebuilt" OBX Torsen LSD (probably the best thing I've done to the car. I used Rich Bryant's kit.) - Exedy single-mass conversion clutch kit (lightweight flywheel [-18 lbs over the OE dual-mass flywheel!] and sprung clutch disc) - Royal Purple 5W30 (winter) 10W30 (summer)/OEM MINI oil filters always used - Royal Purple MaxGear 75W90 transmission oil Suspension/Brakes - ALTA adjustable rear swaybar and polyurethane bushings - ALTA adjustable rear links - DINAN Stage 2 suspension kit (tuned Koni yellows + custom-rate lowering springs) - Front adjustable camber plates - Whiteline front strut tower brace - Powerflex front lower control arm bushings - Powerflex full suspension bushing kit (I have not installed any of the rear bushings or engine/transmission mount bushings, but have them NIB) - Centric slotted rotors - PBR MetalMaster Semi-Metallic brake pads - Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines Interior/Exterior - TRS HID projector retrofit using stock Bosch/AL MINI projectors - 50 watt ballasts (REALLY bright) under warranty until Aug. 2015 - 5000k Morimoto 50 watt bulbs - Headlight chrome trim blackout - JCW front upper and lower grilles - DICE iPod interface - Pioneer coaxial door speakers - MOMO KING Shift Knob - GReddy Boost Gauge Wheels/Tires - Stock R85 "S-Lite" rims for daily use - Continental ExtremeContact DWS (Prod. Year 2010) with approx. 4-6/32nds left: 205/50-17 - Rays Engineering GramLights 57S 17x7.5+40 for competition/summer use - Dunlop Direzza Z1 StarSpec (Prod. Year 2011) with approx. 7/32nds left: 215/40-17 Maintenance Performed Since Ownership - All fluids (power steering [flushed at 90,000 miles], brake fluid [flushed at 75,000], oils [engine oil change every 7,500 with Royal Purple, transmission oil flushed at 81,000 miles with Royal Purple 75W90], filters [oem fuel filter changed at 78,000 miles]) replaced including supercharger oil change service at 79,000 miles - New MAP/T-MAP sensors (at approx. 73,000 miles) - New throttle body (at approx. 96,000 miles) - New used throttle pedal box (at approx. 97,000 miles) - New shifter cables (at approx. 97,000 miles) - New front suspension balljoints (at approx. 79,000 miles) - New serpentine accessory drive belt (changed every year, last changed 4/2014) - New serpentine accessory drive belt tensioner (at approx. 88,000 miles) - New timing chain tensioner (at approx. 86,000 miles) - New water pump (at approx. 79,000 miles) - New fuel filter (at approx. 77,000 miles) - New thermostat (at approx. 79,000 miles) - New OEM radiator hoses (at approx. 79,000 miles) - New intake gaskets (at approx. 79,000 miles) - New front driver side wheel bearing (replaced due to scuffed ABS reluctor ring) (at approx. 85,000 miles) - New rear driver side wheel bearing (in box - going to install before sale) - New ABS wheel speed sensors (at approx. 79,000 miles) I HAVE MOST OEM OR ORIGINAL PARTS (intake box, OEM struts and springs, rear sway bar, OE bypass valve, etc.) AND WILL INCLUDE THEM WITH THE CAR! The end result is a car that is more than the sum of its parts. This is a true giant-killer in the cones! C6 Z06s, E92 M3s, Lotus Exiges, this car has taken them all down, and I have the trophies to prove it. Handling is predictable and neutral at the limit - she rotates well with left-foot braking and pulls out of corners like an AWD thanks to the front diff. Very little understeer if you know how to drive her. She's routinely the fastest front wheel drive car at any autocross I take her to, and that's saying something for a car that isn't stripped out and can handle a two hour commute with air conditioning, power steering, and a radio! The Bad - The car has started to weep oil from the front and rear main seals (less than 1/4 quart every 7,500 miles) - Weeping oil from timing chain cover - Peeling clearcoat on hood - Passenger airbag light on (common fault for these cars - passenger seat occupancy sensor) - Scuffed passenger side skirt from a parking mishap before I owned the car - Torn up plastic undertray (I still have it, but removed it from the car thanks to a delaminated tire on the highway) - Headliner is sagging - TPMS/ASC fault (ABS still works) - Some barely noticeable, very shallow dings - Some barely noticeable chips and scratches I have all receipts for parts replaced and other related expenses and can provide maintenance records per request. I will also include some specialty BMW/MINI tools such as a belt tensioner service tool kit, supercharger pulley puller, crank pulley puller, oil filter socket, etc. with the sale. I am asking $7,500 or best offer. I am very negotiable with the price. I am not accepting any trades. Cash, cashier's check, or other certified funds only. Buyer to pay $750 NON REFUNDABLE deposit within 48 hours of a successful bid. Buyer arranges shipping or transportation of vehicle. Call/text or e-mail me if you have any further questions. The car is located in Bolingbrook, IL, about 30 minutes south-west of Chicago. Thanks for looking.
