Vehicle Detail
1946 Chevrolet Fire Truck built on one ton chassis. Originally placed in service in 1947 as fire truck for village of Hancock, Wisconsin. Was used as the village fire truck until the late 1970s. Later saw service as a parade truck before being purchased by a private buyer and used on a Christmas tree farm. Purchased and brought to South Carolina around 2009. Acquired by a local fire department support team and used for parades and other public events until the present time. Pump was operational but water tank and plumbing have been removed to accommodate seating in the rear of the truck. This truck is a real gem! You just won't find any like it in its condition. Was built by Anderson Truck Body in Iola, Wisconsin in 1947 after chassis was purchased by the Village of Hancock. Anderson Truck Body was bought out later by FWD Seagrave in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Truck is titled as a 1947 but is actually a 1946.
