Vehicle Detail
Up for bids is my 1997 Ford Expedition XLT with NO RESERVE. I am the second owner (at least that's what the dealer told me when I bought it). I purchased it in 2002 with about 57,000 miles on it from a Ford dealer in Oak Ridge, TN. Adult driven until about 4 1/2 years ago when I passed it down to our son. We've kept the oil changes up to date and given it service as needed, until now. Finally, enough work was needed that we decided to sell it and buy our son something that will last thru college. So, here's the good and the bad..... first, the bad. Heater core leaks (replaced 6 years or so back, needs it again)Transmission needs attention. It's been slipping some when cold, but now will not shift up out of second gear into third.Slight oil leak. We've lived with this for a while and it's not gotten much worse.Slight exhaust leak. Again, we've lived with this for a while. Not a big one, not loud, but it's there.Radio replaced with after market radio a few years ago. Will need tires soon.A few dashboard lights burned out.Remote door opener only works at close range. Only one chipped key included. As for body damage, it was hit from behind about a year ago and the only damage was the trailer hitch, rear bumper and bumper mounts. The rear bumper and mounts were replaced, hitch was removed. I backed into a brick column about 10 years ago and damaged the passenger side rear panel (I think that was it) and had it professionally repaired. The front bumper and bumper mounts are damaged from a low speed accident. You can see it in the photos. No damage to fenders. Clear title, no salvage or such. Now for the good.... described best I can per the last time I drove it a few weeks ago (however not guaranteed). Engine runs strong. Starts good and has a new battery.Steering is good. Pittman arm replaced a couple of years back made a big improvement.4wd worked fine last time I tried it a few months back. All electric door locks and windows work fine.Power drivers seat works fine.Air conditioning is excellent. Has front and rear air conditioning.Wipers and windshield washers work fine.Has front trailer hitch, used for bicycle rack.No rips or tears in upholstery. Something (a ball of some kind) was left in the middle seats when they were folded and has discolored the seat a bit.Paint in decent condition, no rust. Just a few scuffs and such. It is 17 years old!Brakes work fine with no issues. Not sure how much life is left in the brake pads.Cruise control works fine. All lights and turn signals working as they should. To my knowledge, the vehicle has never been smoked in. I used it to tow a Coleman pop-up camper some over the years and it did just fine. No heavy trailers towed with it. I have the title and would prefer payment via PayPal or cash. No checks please. I will NOT ship the vehicle. It is located just north of Maryville, TN. I would expect the vehicle to be paid for and picked up no later than 1 week after the auction end, unless you make other arrangements with me prior to auction end. Please ask any questions prior to bidding, don't assume anything. The vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It will be your responsibility to remove the vehicle. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Call Lynn at 865-384-9734. I'd even be happy to arrange for you to look at it prior to bidding! Thanks and good luck.
