Vehicle Detail
Listing this motorcycle for a friend. As a shop owner he does not have a lot of time to list and sell so I offered to help. He recently purchased this bike from a family. The Previous owner had started the process of restoring or reconditioning the bike but unfortunately passed away before finishing it so they opted to sell the bike un-finished. The current owner is a former BMW master tech and took the time to reassemble and complete the bike and as a result it went from a project to a one kick start bike you see here in the pictures. Lots of new parts went into the bike. New clutch, engine electrics reconditioned, new clutch, stainless steel exhaust, new rubber pegs etc. Does have 2 holes in the front fender from an apparent license plate holder. There is no information unfortunately on what engine work was done but it is very apparent that work has been performed due to the cleanliness of the engine alloy and how it runs. No smoke or funny noises. Tires look great, fresh oil change etc. Paint looks to be some original, some not but how much I don't know. Frame looks to be a repaint as well so please be your own judge bid accordingly. Does look good for what that is worth. Two things I noticed as "flaws" not already stated is the seat foam is deteriorating and leaving some "foam dust' on the bike if you tap on the top of the seat. Also, the center stand touches the inside of the muffler when in the stowed position. Could be easily adjusted but wanted to disclose that. I am sure there is more great stuff to say about it but can't think of it at the moment. There is a toolkit that does not seem period and there is an owner's manual that also seems to be a reproduction. Clear clean VA title in hand reflecting ODO mileage depicted. If you have any questions concerning the bike, please feel free to ask. Will do my best to answer all questions as accurately as I can. This is a very nice example of an R27 but is an OLD motorcycle. There are no warranties implied or specified. Can be available for inspection if you would like to come see it and I encourage it. Shipping will be at buyer's expense and responsibility. Will do everything I can to facilitate shipping process. Not able to crate, sorry. Will not reveal the reserve but believe it to be commensurate with condition and collectability. Would entertain offers to post a buy it now. Will be glad to talk telephonically if you email a number. Thanks for looking. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Cheers!! On Dec-19-14 at 05:09:24 PST, seller added the following information: Several questions along the same line so will post here. Bike is matching numbers, all three, engine frame and tag. Owner did say that he is certain head was reconditioned as evidenced by the new valve guides visible during valve adjustment, cleanliness of the head inside valve covers and out. This is to the best of his opinion. As stated, do not have any proof or knowledge of any engine work other than what we can determine but it seems to have been for what that is worth. I do not have any damage history on the bike. As it is being sold as I running bike, will attest to the fact that it is a good clean running motorcycle, tracks strait etc. I did state the the title said 30k but it has in fact 15k. Not an issue, bike has been ridden etc but since I stated differently, I just wanted to clarify.
