up for auction is a 1980 triumph spitfire 1500 with over drive vin # FM110234U0C this is low mileage barn find purchased in sept of 1979 by the previous owner and garaged in December of 1980 after a test drive from a friend looking for 5th gear landed the car into reverse and broke the main shaft a $3500 part plus labor in 1980 the trans was removed and labeled in to boxes the car stayed there for 34 years I found and purchased the car last fall thinking of it as a parts car but after further inspection I found the car to be in exceptional condition . so I sourced a main shaft a rebuild the trans and installed it with a new clutch pressure plate, master and slave cylinder. I replaced the fuel tank ,sending unit and pump with new parts from Columbia British there was no coolant in the system it was chemically cleaned, flushed and filled . I replaced the water pump and radiator ,tune the car with cap, rotor, wires, plugs and refreshed the carburetor with new parts from Columbia British all the brake component are original except for the master cylinder I repainted the wheels replaced the original good year Britain tires with new wider ones all parts that are not mentioned are in working condition and original to the car The interior is completely original with a few blemish the exterior paint as a few blemish from setting under a coarse cover, paint is stained and as rub marks but is otherwise straight and rust free The under carriage is factory color and rust free it as the original top, tonneau cover and boot in the rust free trunk the spare , jack and tool kit are all there never used and original to the car the car runs and drive the radio isn't there .the carburetor needs rebuilt the seat cushion and covers are not the best the windshield chrome trim is missing I have a clean tittle and original lean release on hand interested parties should contact me before placing bid, no or low feed back bids well not be accepted , I well consider all offer that are near my reserve price yes you can come see the car and disprove its mileage !
