Vehicle Detail

I am the second owner for majority of the 203,000 well-maintained miles on this top line Ford window van. Has quad leather seats and third bench and most factory options offered that year. 4.6L engine that never fails to start. The transmission fluid has been changed every 50K and engine oil every 3,000 to 5,000. Uses a quart in about 3,000 miles, which is great for its age. Has Factory running boards and towing package, but never used to tow anything more than a small utility trailer. Receiver only, no ball. I was planning on keeping this much longer, as I usually keep my Ford Vans until about 250K miles, so I spent some money on things as though I was keeping it, but found a deal I could not pass on another. So, Brand NEW Cooper Tires, 4 new shocks just months ago and an alignment. NEW Muffler and Tailpipe very recently. NEW top-rated Battery within a year and All New brakes all the way around, including new rotors/hardware and bearings & seals in the front and shoes in back. Has Ice Cold air and great heat. New wiper blades every fall. Ready for winter or a long trip, it runs and drives beautifully and always has. I would head anywhere tomorrow without hesitation. Very clean inside and out and has no noticeable dings or dents. Original Tan Carpets and seats are very good, except driver's seat is tearing at the outside edge. Close up included in pictures. Always had carpeted floor mats down and just bought new ones last summer. Wood dash kit, a painted color-matched bug guard and vent shades over windows have been added. Factory VCR/TV screen setup but it is in "secure" mode from being unplugged and plugged back in. Not sure how to clear that, but it is all there and like new. The only bad thing about this van is a code light is on. The code says "rich one bank, lean one bank" and the local Ford dealer says it is caused by a common leak in the aging silicone gasket under the intake manifold when the engine is cold. It warms and then seals and works fine, but the few minutes it runs cold is enough to throw an engine code. It starts, runs and drives great and has a lot of miles left in it. It really needs nothing to just drive it every day. The rear Factory leather seats all come out without tools in minutes, so if you want a work truck or hauler, this will work for that, too. It has seats for 7 and still over 3 feet of cargo behind the back seat. Will haul 4 x 10 plywood with the seats out. Waxed at least once a year and still shiny. Here's a quick list of the defects....code light on, tear in driver's seat, VCR in secure mode, metal heat shield on exhaust vibrates a bit at idle sometimes....a small thing that just started. Lower rockers just starting to bubble with some rust. No holes. Pictures show it up close. Insides of doors good. Very clean engine compartment. Rear Air disconnected a year ago because of line leaks...very common on these vans. Rear Heat works fine. Rear barn door on side has a tight hinge. Door works, but is hard to swing. Drivers seat armrest sags a bit. Other than those things listed, it is good to go. Privacy Tinted glass and Two-toned paint and Aluminum wheels were all part of the Chateau package. Rims are in great shape and not all corroded like most at this age. I waxed the rims once a year, too. Located in Lakemoor, IL, which is about 50 miles northwest of Chicago. I need at least $500 within 24 hours of auction end by Paypal or somehow and the rest in cash when you come for it within a week of auction close. If you need other arrangements, let me know what you need before you bid, please. I won't take a cashier's check because there are too many issues with them now, too. Sorry....cautious guy. I have a clean title in hand. Sold AS IS, but I am honest in my description and have no worries, as it was my daily driver until a couple weeks ago and just never failed me. I have 100% feedback and will do my part to keep it that way. Please, email with questions before bidding. Your winning bid is a commitment to buy, but if you show up and hate it, I'll give you back your deposit less any fees ebay will not refund me. But, I think if you see it, that won't be the case. All questions will be answered and posted for all to see. RESERVE HAS BEEN LOWERED AS LAST BIDDING WAS VERY CLOSE TO SOLD.On Dec-12-14 at 09:44:56 PST, seller added the following information: A bidder sent a question about rust and my answer did not show here, so to be fair, I am adding the answer for all to see: Q: How are the bottoms of the doors. I.E.:rust? Answer: There is one spot about the size of a dime that is on the EXTERIOR of the side rear barn door. It was touched up with Extend rust treatment and touch up paint with a brush in the spring. On the INSIDE of passenger front door, there was a spot the size of a nickel. Same touch up. There is about 1.5 inches of rust just starting in the very inside back corner of the drivers door. The rest of the door is fine. The bottoms along the weather stripping are clean. The rockers have some rust starting which is pictured. I have two inside door pics I could send you, but I cannot post more on ebay without a fee. This van has been through 12 winters in the midwest, so it is not perfect, but much better than many of its age. It is priced at 7% of what is sold for new and there is a lot more than 7% of a van left in it. Thanks for asking.
