Vehicle Detail

Item specifics: Make: Jaguar Model: XKE E-type Body Style: Coupe 2+2 Year: 1970 Condition: Used VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): P1R43711 Transmission: Manual Engine: 6 Cylinder, 9 to 1 compression Mileage: 70,308 Weight: 3300 Vehicle Title: Clear For your consideration is my 1970 XKE. I purchased preowned in 1977. This was my wife’s car and a weekend car. It has always been garaged, never wrecked. In my younger years I originally wanted to restore the vehicle, but never seemed to have the time as I traveled extensively in my career, so the vehicle has spent most of its life in the garage. The interior was completely professionally replaced, imported English Connolly leather package on seats. The exterior was stripped and repainted and most of the rubber parts replaced. Other items were also done over the years, but I do not recall them all. I am now at an age where I have the time, but no longer have the incentive, interest or health to pursue a restoration project so it is time to pass this grand old car on to someone that has the need for a Classic. Hopefully the photos will give you a good indication of general condition. The engine, transmission, drive train were all in good condition when the car was last driven, but that has been a number of years ago as it has remained covered in storage. This would make a great Christmas present for the right person. Call or e-mail for any questions you have or more pictures, Richard 281-579-2988. I will assist as needed in arranging the shipping of the vehicle or any inspections you desire. On Dec-14-14 at 04:05:16 PST, seller added the following information: To answer the question on the condition of the floorpans: Mainly what I see on the underside is the coating and red primer overspray that was used in priming prior to painting. Along the outer edge on the right side there appears to be a small line a few inches of some light rust where the coating is broken (but a wire brush should take that off. The floorpans are intact and appear to be in very good condition.on the interior, I couldn't get the insulation board up on the right side interior floorpan as it is firmly affixed. On the left side interior I see the coating covering all the metal surface and and what appears to be red primer overspray, but there were a couple of small spots of rust where the coating was missing. I brushed these spots with a stainless brush and exposed the metal It would appear that where the undercoating is intact, which is the majority of the area, things are okay. The floorpans are obviously intact, but I would assume there could be some other areas like these small spots, which would need to be checked and some work done to maintain their integrity. I would say the floorpans in good condition and would not pose restoration problems.
