Vehicle Detail

1973 BMW Bavaria. Automatic transmission. No known mechanical issues. Recent cosmetic restoration and engine rebuild. Please ask any questions you have! Car is listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Sold without reserve. On Dec-02-14 at 16:53:52 PST, seller added the following information: Notes from the previous owner: " This car just had a cosmetic restoration, that was paint, and going through all of the cars systems. Never rusted, all metal is original and unrepaired. I have records from the last owner who spent tens of thousands of dollars on the brakes, suspension, and engine. The car has a like new motor, the previous owner had the motor rebuilt, the receipt is in the paperwork. It starts and runs perfect and makes full power like you would expect from a bmw thoroughbred. The Dual twin chock ZEnith downdraft original carburetors were rebuilt by the PO, and work great, high idle works, perfect low idle, lots of power and great fuel economy. I should mention that the have the classic Zenith hesitation right out of idle that goes away instantly as you press on the pedal. New brakes, new discs new calipers all around. New exhaust system. New shocks. Restored wheels, with new Bridgestone Potenza tires, make it a superb and tight driver. Everything in the car works as it should, including the air conditioning. The car is absolutely brilliant in every way. You can drive this car daily and any distance. "On Dec-07-14 at 09:59:01 PST, seller added the following information: Just wanted to provide more background on the car after receiving lots of inquiries. My name is ryan, and I bought this car on ebay in November from Taso in Pennsylvania. I was also bidding on the Green Bavaria in California owned by John. I ended up winning both auctions. John suggested the idea of building one perfect car out of the best of both. Very tempting but I've decided to just keep the green car although this white bavaria has an the better body (no known rust). The main reasons are 1) auto transmissions would require a 5 speed swap, 2) I own a 1985 Mercedes 300CD turbo diesel with blue interior and that's one car too many with that color selection because I prefer black or beige, and 3) I want more a sportscar/driver oriented bavaria and this car is more of a show piece (although it still hauls rear end when you put your foot down!!!). I drove the car about 1,000 miles while in the northeast without any issue (ironically my cayman S was in the shop at the time). Also, the odometer was stuck at 108k when I bought the car. Records show that I was working at some point recently due to the mileage on the records. Clean and clear GA title can be mailed to you once payment is received. The car and it's key are located in Boston, MA at German Performance with my old pal Marc Feinstein.
