Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is our 1971 Dodge Challenger. We have owned this car for three years. It started life in California as a Medium Green Poly, 318 car. It is now a Green Go R/T Tribute car. This car has not been hacked up or cut apart as many E body's that you will find have been. It still retains much of the original sheet metal. The fenders, doors, and quarters are all clean and straight. The floor and trunk are solid and clean as well. The engine bay was painted when the car was painted. The previous owner added the R/T hood and shortly after owning it, we discovered "key scratches" in the finish of the hood near the nostrils. We had it looked at it was told it was due to improper curing of the basecoat prior to the hood being cleared. We intended to have the hood completely repainted but we never stopped driving the car long enough to have it done and it never bothered us as it is not that noticeable unless you are looking for it. There are no other areas of concern in the finish, nor is there any rust. All paint shines nicely. I would not classify this car as having a show-car finish, but it is very nice, straight and clean. I have taken this car many places and it turns heads and gets strong complements everywhere we go. We had new tires installed when we bought the car in 2012, they still look good and have very good tread remaining. The car has power disc (front) brakes and power steering. It has a Rallye dash as well as a floor console. The interior looks great as you may tell from the photos. The radio does not work as it is not connected to the wiring. This car was an original A/C car which could be converted back. The engine is a later 440 block (72 or 73) which runs great and sounds very good. It has a Holley 4 barrel carburetor. The transmission is a 727 automatic and it shifts smooth. The rear end is a Dana 60. I am not sure what the gear ratio is. The underside of the car is also very clean. It has been lightly undercoated, not gummed up thick. The exhaust was brand new when we bought the car. It also has headers. All in all, this is a super clean example of a 71 Challenger that has the look and sounds great. It is very sharp and an over all very clean car. It has never been abused or neglected. Having said that, it is not perfect, but will stand out anywhere you want to take it. I am not a dealer, I am not a consigner, I do not "sell cars on the weekends to make a buck." This is my personal car and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. My phone number is 330-592-3644. We have thoroughly enjoyed this car and are only selling it because we are out of room (can you ever have enough space?). We have other vehicles and I am tired of parking my daily driver outdoors. $28,000 FIRM. No Trades, no low balls, no tire kickers. If you know of a car this clean for less, go buy it and don't waste my time.
