Vehicle Detail

My garage burned down last Monday and my car - 01 e46 M3 with 114k miles, was in front of the garage and the front end started to melt. Surprisingly my insurance wants to call it a total loss and let me buy it back so that's what I did. I think they totaled it because of the time involved in stripping and repainting, but realistically the plasti dip will peel right off and the Imola Red underneath is fine. The car itself was never on fire. The damage is all just heat damage to the very front from before I could roll it out of the driveway. The car is imola red and it is plastidipped with olive/blueberry flip and I think it may have saved a lot of the paint on the hood actually. The heat had just started to bubble the dip when my neighbors started hosing it down. The engine bay is fine. It basically looks like the front bumper, headlights/foglights lenses and whatever wiring (thermometer) is in the lower front area.It actually looks like the dip saved most of the paint. I'm REALLY shocked they totaled it, but I think it was due to the dip. I don't think he wanted to figure out how much it was going to cost to strip the dip and then respray the whole car. I mean it had JUST started to melt through the front lenses, but even the bulbs behind them appear fine. The car has 114k original miles and I just had a new clutch put in back in the summer. It has maybe 800-1000 miles on it. Inside needs a cleaning because I was about a week away from doing the end of season cleaning to cover it up for the winter. Car still currently drives fine. It just needs an alignment and new brakes soon. The car could probably be fixed by a DIYer for the cost of a new bumper, lenses, and radiator fan guard. If you have any questions or would like pictures of anything specific please let me know. $500 deposit due within 48hrs close of auction and the remainder within 7 days. Buyer is responsible for shipment arrangements. Thanks for looking!
