This 1960 Nash Metropolitan is a good running older restoration that can be enjoyed as is, or tailored to fit your tastes. A California black plate car that was originally red and white, it had a color change when restored several years ago and is now two shades of blue. The cheap repaint was thorough, but you can still find red under the hood and under the carpets. There is some rust under the carpet in the driver's side footwell, with a few small holes near the seat (see photo). The chrome also has some light pitting with the worst area being the grill. (again see photo) Inside, the upholstery and headliner look great, but the carpet has some wear near the door sill from entry and exit. All controls seem to work with the exception of the odometer, so the true mileage is unknown. The previous owner also added oil pressure, water temperature, and amp gauges. Mechanically it fires right up and idles nicely. It can take a few minutes to warm up, but once underway, it runs and drives very well. The brakes and clutch feel good, and the tires look virtually new. Drive it, restore it, or something in between. This is a fun little car that gets a lot of attention.
