Vehicle Detail
This 1973.5 Porsche 911T coupe (with Bosch CIS injection) has 91,114 original miles. The engine, transmission, wheels, and all body panels (except for the license plate panel) are original. The unused full size Fuchs spare wheel and Michelin XWX tire are original! The interior is all original except for the shift knob. The engine has the requisite updated cam chain tensioners and air box blow off valve. The heater, heater fan, wipers, washers, horn, headlights, tail lights, parking lights, original Blaupunkt radio, and air conditioner blower all function. If the batteries are well charged, the car starts readily cold or hot and runs well. I inherited this car from my father who purchased it from a friend in 1973 with low miles. The car was garaged and kept in South Carolina for most of its life. Recent (meaning time or mileage) maintenance includes replacement of the fuel pump, fuel accumulator, fuel filter, spark plugs, a (used) warm up regulator, new lower cam cover gaskets, new oil tank hoses, a rebuilt master brake cylinder, new LF turn signal housing, and an oil and filter change. I have most, but not all of the service records. Original sales receipt??? This 41 year old car is not perfect. Following is a list of everything I know that is lacking or needing attention with this car: The front left turn signal does not blink. The car will leak a few drops of oil overnight after being parked with a hot engine. An occasional drop may get on the exhaust or (stainless steel) heat exchangers, causing a bit of odor in the garage. The hand throttle lever has become disconnected from the throttle cable, meaning that cold starts require the driver to depress the gas pedal for 30 seconds or so after starting. The air conditioner needs recharging and possible reconditioning, as it does not blow cold air. The drivers side door pocket is somewhat bent (see photo). The headliner is somewhat discolored and wrinkled in the rear (see photo). I am unaware of any serious rust problems, but can't guarantee it as there is undercoating on the car. There is a small dent below the rocker panel near the left jack point (can't be seen unless crouching next to the car). One or two items are missing from the tool kit. The car has been repainted and had the windshield replaced. I am unaware of any other issues but I am not a mechanic, and can't guarantee anything. Any inspections will happen in my (heated) garage or driveway. The buyer must arrange shipping, but I will be available to help if needed. Feel free to E-mail me with any questions. On Nov-19-14 at 11:05:16 PST, seller added the following information: I wish to add the following information: The rear sway bar, while in place needs to have the links inserted into the new bushings that I have. The passenger door could use a slight adjustment for a better fit depending on how picky you are (see recently added photo). The clock has stopped working. On Nov-20-14 at 14:40:05 PST, seller added the following information: The engine number is 6135894. Also, I'm trying to add a better photo of the slight bend of the rocker at the left jack point. That bend happened when I jacked the car up without the Porsche jack being fully inserted. Since then I've been using a different jack to raise the car on the left side.
