I am re-listing my truck due to a non-paying and non-communicative eBay member from north of the US border. I would recommend banning 1978malibured from any of your auctions even though this ebay member has high positive feedback previously, he lied repeatedly about paying for the truck and then just stopped communicating with me period and left me hanging after being the high bidder on my original auction for this truck. The member has been reported to eBay. Anyway, below is the original auction text and nothing has changed since it was written. Please do no bid on the truck unless you have the funds to buy it. About six months ago I sold my mint 99 suburban to an elderly couple from my church who needed a vehicle of that size to haul their extended family on a move out of state. I no longer needed a vehicle of that size as my kids are now driving. I love the late 90's vintage Chevy pickups, Tahoe and Suburban so I began the search for a super clean standard cab short bed pickup to be my new daily driver since I thought I was ready to downsize. I looked at many trucks but I couldn't find "the one" until I found this one owner truck up in Phoenix, Arizona. The original owner was scheduled for a knee replacement surgery and had decided that he needed to sell his truck as it was getting harder and harder to get up in the truck due to his bad knees. When I first saw it I knew it was "the one". It was always garaged and has always been in the Phoenix area, although it was registered in other states that the patient has lived in. The original owners were "snow birds" and maintained a second home in the Phoenix area where the truck always remained for them to use when they were there for the winter months. I purchased the truck and it has been my daily driver ever since and I love the truck. I now find myself in a situation where I again need more space as I have expanded my business to include a new location and I have to have a large enough vehicle for myself and three employees to commute to our second location three days a week and this truck will just no longer work. One of my employees has been gracious enough to drive on those days but she agreed to do it only on a temporary basis until I could get a larger vehicle. So I reluctantly must sell my truck. I will outline the truck in more detail below. EXTERIOR: The truck is wearing all of it's original paint and it shines like new. There has never been any bodywork or paint work done to it. The truck is very straight with only a few very minor dings that you can barely even notice. It had a bug guard on the hood when I purchased the truck that was put on when the truck was new. I hate those things because they always seem to do more damage then the bugs would do in the first place and that's the case here too. The bug guard rubbed a small area of paint right at the tip of the hood (see pics). There is also a light crease in the hood in that area which is the worst imperfection on the body. The trim and molding are in excellent condition. Grill and bumpers are perfect with no dings, cracks or bends. Inside the bed has always had the rubber mat that is currently there now so it has been well protected and, since the truck was never used as a work truck, the inside of the bed is in excellent condition. The rims are in the best condition of any I have ever seen of this vintage. They are rash free and really still look new. A look under the truck and you can tell this truck was never taken off road. It is super clean with no rust or corrosion of any kind. You can still see factory markings and stickers on the driveline, etc. All lights work perfectly including the cargo light. Overall just a beautiful truck that gets compliments regularly. INTERIOR: The interior of the truck is equally as impressive. Nothing is modified from original and everything works as it should. AC is very cold and cruise control works perfect as well. The headliner has one small imperfection near the drivers visor which was there when I bought it but since I didn't notice it for awhile I never asked the original owner what had happened there. The truck is a non-smoker truck so it has no odors or burns. There are a couple imperfections on the front windshield but do not affect the driver's vision and all other glass is perfect. I just had the front seat completely redone at a cost of over $500 as the original owner had spilled something on the bottom of the drivers seat that left a stain that I could not remove after trying everything to remove it. The seat was redone using the original style material and pattern and looks and feels very nice. It also brought back the new car smell when you first get in the truck which I love. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking on the interior but I'm sure you will not find a nicer interior on a truck of this vintage. MECHANICAL: The truck runs and drives perfectly with no shaking, shimmying, pulling to one side or any funny noises. No leaks anywhere or smoking. The 5.7 V8 provides plenty of power as you can imagine with such a small truck. All 4WD components work perfectly. Matching set of Michelin tires still with 80% tread left and in great shape. Truck runs cool, oil pressure is excellent. It has brand new front rotors and brakes and stops perfectly and quietly. The only mechanical issue to speak of is that after driving the truck for awhile, if you stop and then need to restart the truck right away the starter will bog down briefly but then will start every time. My mechanic said that it happens when the starter gets hot and that I could replace the starter if it bothered me, which it did at first, but now I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me. If the truck has cooled off for awhile then it starts normally so it only bogs after being driven long enough to get it hot. I have driven the truck across the desert in 110 plus degree heat to California and back several times and the starter never gets hot enough to not start the truck so this is more of an annoyance than any kind of mechanical problem but I wanted to make you aware of it. The original owner said it had been doing that for years and that the starter is the original starter from when the truck was new. It also has a nearly new Interstate battery. Oil/filter were just changed at 104,500 miles so it's ready for any long drive. The truck was always very well maintained throughout it's life and it shows. Transmission shifts flawlessly. The truck needs nothing. SUMMARY: These single cab short bed Silverado pickups are getting harder and harder to come by in this vintage and especially in this condition and with this low mileage. The truck has basically been a one owner truck until earlier this year and I have only upgraded the condition of the truck with the new seat, so pride of ownership really shows on this truck. You will not be disappointed in this truck. Check my feedback and the pictures and bid with confidence. I may be listing this truck in other media so I do reserve the right to sell the truck and end the auction at any time if the truck should sell elsewhere. Winning bidder is required to make a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction or the truck will be re-listed on the 25th hour. Balance will be due within 7 days of the end of the auction. As always I would be happy to pick up buyers at Tucson International Airport if you were to fly in and drive the truck home (must agree on schedule before making flight arrangements). I can store the truck in my garage for a reasonable time to arrange for shipping if you were to ship the truck. I also have a set of Westin nerf bars for the truck and a like new condition locking toolbox for the bed that I will throw in with the truck if the winning bidder would like them. Thanks and Good Luck!
