You are bidding on a 1997 Jaguar XJ6 4door sedan(X300). This is an original California car with only 75, 775 original miles! 1997 was the last year that Jaguar installed it's inline 4.0L (AJ16) six cylinder engine in it's most popular sedan. The V8's that came standard in the 1998 model (X308) had some serious issues and were not sorted out until the 2004 model. Ask any Jaguar purist, and he will tell you that the 4.0 was the best engine Jaguar ever made. This is an example of a car that was meticulously cared for, never smoked in, slept inside , and was rarely driven. ENGINE: The motor in this car starts right up every time with out any hint of smoke or abnormal exhaust. Settles immediately into a very smooth 700rpm idle. Will rev effortlessly to redline with no signs of knocking, pinging, or misfire whatsoever. Not a drop of oil anywhere on my garage floor from engine, transmission or any where else. TRANSMISSION: Transmission engages from park into drive with hardly a nudge. No clunk, no hesitation at all. Up shifts at red line if you have it in "sport" mode, otherwise it shifts less aggressively in "N" mode. Downshifts are drama free, and kickdown is immediate with no hesitation at all. SUSPENSION: Due to the unusually low mileage on this car, the suspension is still extremely tight. No looseness in the front end. Pulls straight with no drifting, on acceleration or braking. Just like most Jaguars, it still feels like a much lighter car than it actually is. INTERIOR: Because this car never slept out doors, the interior is still in remarkably good condition. No sun rot anywhere. No cracking in any leather surfaces, in carpet, or anywhere in the wood or the dash. Headliner is completely intact with no signs of sagging. ELECTRICAL: ALL electrical components are in perfect working order. No warning lights on the dash. Windows, Locks, Cruise, Sunroof, Pseats, Pmirrors, remote trunk release, electronic climate control, Pantenna ....ALL work perfectly. Air conditioner is ICE COLD! Memory seats seem to have a mind of their own and do not always store correct memory. PAINT/EXTERIOR: This car has never been in any sort of an accident. Finish still has a very nice shine to it. Paint is original everywhere except the trunk lid for whatever reason. It is not obvious to the average person, but it is to me. No over spray or mismatched color. Panels were never removed and all of the original VIN stickers are still in place everywhere. Glass is perfect. No dents, a couple of minor scratches on bumper cover. TIRES/BRAKES: Vehicle wears a complete set (5) of Pirelli P4000"s. Still have 70% tread left. Had them recently balanced and they are perfect. Brakes also have 70% left. Stops with no vibration or pulling at all. Please remember that this car is still 20 years old. As nice as it is, it is not perfect. Please study my photos thoroughly.
