1974 Honda CB750 - 7,865-mile original bike Engine #: CB750E-2327405 Build Date: 10/73 Up for your bid is this awesome 1974 Honda CB750. The bike was found in a sea container where it sat preserved in darkness for many years. It really shows too, as the original paint is in near perfect condition with no sign of fading. All the chrome on the bike shows light pitting but is still very presentable and could be cleaned up with a little effort. This bike is a perfect candidate for mild restoration as it is complete and in fantastic condition. It could also serve as a daily driver with a bit more tuning.
 The bike needed some basic help to get going again. The fuel system was totally gummed up after sitting for so many years so the first task was to clean that all up. The gas tank had very little fuel left in it so it wasn't too tough to get the inside cleaned out using fresh fuel. The original fuel petcock was totally clogged so a new NOS unit was fitted. The carbs were jetted and the timing was reset. New spark plugs, air filter & battery were added. I rebuilt the front brake caliper using a stainless steel piston kit, new metal brake line (section) and new brake pads. Years ago, I had acquired a set of NOS HM300 pipes and I decided to put them on this bike along with a used but matching set of earlier carbs. I am told that the earlier carbs and HM300 combo was a more “open” set up that allowed the CB750 engine to "breath better". Of course, the original HM341 pipes (in good condition) and original carbs (in rough condition) will go with the bike so if you would prefer to return the bike to its exact OEM specs you can do so. I also had new tires mounted and balanced (Bridgestone BT45 Battleaxes). The bike fires up and runs well. The motor is strong and tight with no smoke of any kind. Runs through all the gears as it should. The original clutch is butter soft and functioning perfectly. I think the bike would benefit from more tuning - a carb sync has not been done other than adjusting the throttle cable and observing the slides. Someone with better tools and skills could definitely improve the tune - No parts needed. This bike demands attention wherever it goes and as soon as it is parked people come up to see it, start asking questions and talking about the CB they owned back in the day….
