You are bidding on a very solid 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible with 33,xxx original miles. This car runs and drives and has very minimal rust but it is being sold "as is." My wifes Grandfather purchased this car from the original owner who drove it to college in Florida during the 1970's and then it was used as a fair weather car until the mid 1990's when it was put into dry storage where it was freshened up with new paint and carpet. It was started and driven periodically until sometime in the early 2000's when my wifes grandfather purchased it for a project and over the next few years he had the gas tank cleaned , the carb rebuilt , installed new tires and brakes and had a tune up done but it was not driven very much. I bought this car less than a year ago and planned on fixing it up but just do not have the time and have other projects that are a higher priority, I did however install new door panels , trunk latch , gas cap , window regulator and parts , heat tubes , and lots of other small stuff . besides from moving this car in and out of my garage and on the street in front of my house I have only driven this car once on about a 30 mile round trip that was last week. This car starts right up and idles good and pulls good thru all of the gears , the brakes work but the drivers side front comes on first causing a little skid , at the very least the wheel cylinder needs adjustment maybe replacement , the e-brake works good , all of the glass is good no cracks , the paint and body look good for a driver however there is a few dings , imperfections , and some rust bubbles but nothing major , the rear bumper rubber is loose and maybe missing some fasteners , the top has some holes in it some of which have been patched and the door weather stripping was removed because it was soft and sticky , the wipers work but need new rubber , the headlights and tail lights work but not the blinkers , the seats are a little loose in the tracks i was told the plastic bushings are missing , the radio is missing , all windows roll up and down but the pass side rear is a little tight , one of the trunk (front of car) springs has more tension than the other. I have a clear Missouri title in my name. I'm selling this car "as is." It is a project that needs some work , I have tried to list everything that I think it needs but its very possible that I have overlooked a few things. I have had a few Volkswagen enthusiasts check this car out and they were very impressed with the condition being unrestored especially the condition of the heater channels , also I think a tune up and a carb cleaning would not hurt as this car has not been driven very much in the last few years and this new gas is hell on carbs , please take your time and use the zoom feature on all of the pics and please feel free to ask questions before bidding , thanks for looking Ted Burch (636)866-7450 SUPER LOW RESERVE !!!!!!!!!!!!
