1981 GS 450E Suzuki This 450E is a recent "garage find" with 8219 original miles. It is all original with the exception of the tires and battery. When I got it, the 450E had been in storage for a lot of years. The carbs had to be cleaned, the clutch had to be redone, as it was stuck, and the front brake was also stock. Also the starter wouldn't work and, of course, the battery was shot. Also, the petcock leaked. As an old Suzuki mechanic, I looked at this as a "bit of a challenge" so I bought it and got the title put in my name. I repaired everything that I found wrong, replaced the petcock and made it all work. Now it starts right up and is rideable. The horn does not work and it needs to be replaced. As good as it looks, there are some scratches in the paint, although, they don't show up in the pictures, and for some reason the tach reads slow; maybe it is gummed up a little inside of the head. It runs very well, shifts great, and the clutch is like new. The charging system works very well, too. Why am I selling it? It was a great find and a good challenge but I want a dual purpose bike to ride on and off road. I am also listing this locally and reserve the right to remove this ad if I should sell it before the auction is over. Shipping is the buyers responsibility.
