Up for sale is our 1993 Mercedes Benz 300E 4-Door Sedan. This vehicle has the the more powerful 3.2L that is all of the later 320E mercedes. This was the first year the engine was used but the car was not renamed for the 1993 year. This car has 170,236 miles and has been well cared for. Both the upper and lower engine harnesses have been replaced by A Better Wrench in Chapel Hill, NC. This car also has new michelin tires that are approximately 3k miles old as well as new front brakes/rotors. The Good:1) Runs well with the original faulty wiring harnesses replaced.2) Paint I would rate as a 6-7 out of 10. There are signs of oxidation beginning to show up.3) No rust visible 4) Interior in good condition. No tears in upholstery. Seats do not sag, All power accessories work, (locks, windows, A/C, Heat, Sunroof, mirrors, cruise control) The Bad1) Someone scratched the drivers side door trying to break into the car.2) At the same time as the door scratch, they tried to break into the trunk. This has left the physical lock inoperable. It cannot be operated by the key, the automatic system does lock/unlock the trunk though.3) The right channel of the stereo intermittently goes out. Also the faceplate of the aftermarket cd player does not always respond. Basically, I listen to NPR out of the stereo. It is not something that I would go to for a memorable listening experience.4) The radio antenna was broken off halfway. I still am able to receive AM/FM radio stations.5) There appears to be a warped rotor on the back half of the car. When braking aggressively, I can feel a shudder in the pedal. I say back half because the front brakes were replaced at the same time at the same time I got new tires so I am inclined to think the rears are at fault.6) The trip odometer does not work. The odometer that tracks total mileage of the car works, but the secondary odometer that can be reset does not work. 7) There is a strip of velcro remnant from a dash protector that is an eye sore.8) The headliner in the rear of the car is no longer tight to the ceiling. Overall, this is a real nice running/riding car. Do be aware that this car is going on 22 years old. Don't expect a trailer queen. I have driven this car as my daily driver for quite some time. We now have two kids so we have gotten something that is easier to transport our kids in. She gets decent gas mileage, (26 mpg) and is fun to drive. Let me know if you have any questions.
