Vehicle Detail
Here is my beloved 1983 Porsche 944. It's been my ongoing project and occasional daily driver since 2001. In its current configuration it has a nicely built high compression (10.5:1) engine. It has a steel sleeved block and JE forged pistons. A knife edged and lightened crank, turbo rods, ARP hardware, 2mm oversized head studs, fidanza flywheel, full 3" magnaflow exhaust with highflo cat, MSDS headers, balance shafts deleted, internal oil cooler and bypass deleted. It's running an adjustable external oil pressure bypass and a large external oil cooler. It has a brand new full aluminum race radiator. It has a new high torque starter. It occasionally can't kick the solenoid in far enough to stat the starter, I think it may be in the ignition switch but I'm not sure. When it happens I use the old screwdriver trick. The cosmetics still need the help expected of a 1983 car. Seals, trim etc... The computer is an FRWilks modified and chipped computer and I'll include an extra chip and injectors that allows it to run E-85 as well as a full race chip written just for this engine. It just got a brand new fuel pump. It comes with an extra set of wheels. 18" turbo twist (10's and 8's) and 1" hubcentric spacers for them. They have tires on them but they're crap. The front looks bad as I have been going to get the Fiberwerks front end for it (which is what was used to size the oil cooler) and have been trimming it for better air flow in the mean time.
