Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1968 Camaro, base model, original matching 327 engine, turbo 350 transmission. I bought this car in 1999 and has been garage kept under cover for the last 15 years and driven maybe 8 times per year on nice sunny days only. Always kept on a trickle battery charger. I am selling this because I bought a Harley and now drive the car even less and it needs an owner who will enjoy it and use it more.Engine and transmission were rebuilt less than 500 miles ago, the car runs amazing, starts right up, and is ready to go. Strong engine and transmission that will chirp the wheels easily shifting into second gear.Original 327 cubic inch motorTurbo 350 automatic 3 speed transmissionColumn shifter (original transmission was a 2 speed powerglide)Power brakes (drum)Original radio (unknown whether it works, I never tried to use it). Cowl induction hood15 inch Corvette Rally Wheels with center capsChrome Powermaster 37294 150 amp alternatorAutometer triple gauge set, oil pressure, voltage, water temperature and 2 inch tachometerEdelbrock intake and 650 carb, Edelbrock valve covers air cleaner housing, K&N air filterRear leaf springs replaced right after I bought it Custom exhaust system created by local Midas dealer (great sound to it!)Owner’s manual (not original)Aftermarket stereo, head unit can be easily removed (Velcro housing on the driveline hump)Aftermarket stereo includes 5” kick panel speakers, 6x9 rear deck speakers, Rockford Fosgate amp, Sub-woofer setup with 600 watt Audoibahn amp, ½ farad capacitor and two each 10” Infinity Perfect subsThe stereo system and all gauges do work although they were disconnected when the engine was rebuilt and I never got around to hooking them all back up. The tach is operational. Car does need some body work, see pictures for details. Rear tail lights and bumper have pitting. Any bodywork investment would easily be increase the overall value of the car and probably result in at least a doubling of your investment in improvements. Hagerty price guide for this car #4, fair, is $15,200, a fresh coat of paint and repair of the minor issues raises the value of the car to $21,500. Car always gets lots of looks and thumbs up. Clear title on hand. If you have any questions please let me know!! A deposit of $500 from the successful bidder within 48 HOURS and the balance to be paid within 7 DAYSShipping arrangements MUST be made by the buyer. Good luck bidding! On Oct-10-14 at 05:57:33 PDT, seller added the following information: ***** CHANGE TO DESCRIPTION *****The car has power steering! Not power brakes, brakes are plain drum brakes. Sorry for the confusion on my part.***** CHANGE TO DESCRIPTION ***** On Oct-11-14 at 07:55:26 PDT, seller added the following information: **** Update ****I also have 3 manuals that will go with this car.Chiltons Camaro 1967-1981 Repair Manual, Wiring and vacuum diagrams, 28280Chevrolet 1968 Chassis Service Manual, ST 130-68Millenium Industries 1968 Camaro Assembly ManualThese are thick manuals that detail all of the chassis, assembly, wiring and service information. VERY detailed info. You can find them all on the web for around $20-35 a piece. I also have the Owners manual for the Edelbrock Performer Series Carburetor On Oct-13-14 at 18:44:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had some questions about the body. I bought this off of a retired Army Sergeant Major in 1999, he bought it in 1998 with the engine done rebuilt, by HE Racing engines who has since gone out of business. He had all of the body and interior work done. The interior was all replaced, seat covers, headliner, dash, and carpet. My wife had the engine rebuilt again in 2010 while I was deployed by local guy and gave the engine more power and tightened up the transmission. He also put a kick down on it, it will bark the tires every time. Body wise he had the front clip replaced, quarters, hood, grill, bumper etc. The rear quarters were replaced, floor plans and the trunk pan. The rockers and the door skins were not replaced he said which makes sense because they are bubbled which are shown in the pictures. Hope this helps and good luck bidding.
