Original low mileage (28k miles) Bertone X1/9. Originally an Arizona car, it was purchased 18 months ago and was thoroughly inspected and all items that needed fixing were done by Italian car experts, Domenicks in White Plains, NY. Since then it has been regularly driven and has proven enjoyable and reliable. EXTERIOR: Black paint (changed from original Orange by previous owner who undertook a full restoration which took care of any rust). Paint is in good condition but has flaws as usual with a personal restoration. Paint shows well in photos but close examination shows up a few file marks and shrinkage. There is also a shallow parking ding on the L/F door that would easily come out with paintless dent removal.All seals (door, trunk, engine compartment) were replaced and a desirable Right Hand side mirror was also fitted. Bumpers are original and unmarked and all the lights work. Windshield has two shallow wiper scratchesThere is no corrosion that we can see. The usual trouble spots like wheel wells and trunk corners are clear and the windshield header rails and shock towers seem solid. All accessible cavities were treated to Wurth Cavity Protection when we purchased the car. INTERIOR: The seats have been re-covered in vinyl and show no tears or wear. Carpets are original and excellent. As is usual with a Western car, dashboard has two small cracks running from top dash vent to the windshield. Otherwise, dash is in great shape with no fading. All gauges and switches work, including power windows. No AC as compressor was removed to reduce weight improve performance. Shift know was updated, but original shift knob will be included in sale. Door cards and targa roof lining is excellent. Power windows work (albeit slowly, as they were even when new). There is an aftermarket CD player that works fine. MECHANICAL: The engine is really strong and pulls much stronger than you would expect from 1500cc. The desirable fuel injection is excellent and starts even in freezing weather and pulls smoothly without hesitation. New plugs and a K&N air filter were fitted and performance is sparking. - New clutch- Transmission was re-conditioned as reverse and 1st gear synchros were weak. Now shifts like new- New brake and clutch master and slave cylinders were fitted as a precaution- New tires were fitted to the original Speedline 13' wheels which are in great shape for the age with no serious scuff marks or curb damage.
