This auction is for a red 1992 Porsche Carrera 2 Targa in great condition. The engine is strong, transmission shifts smoothly, and the targa rooof is in excellent shape. Also, this is a RUST FREE car. It is solid all around. It has been meticulously maintained, including brand new michelin tires and a brand new clutch within the last 3k miles. I have taken a few pictures of the maintenance done to the car over the years, and i have a 2 inch binder full of receipts as well. This is an all original car with the exception of the stereo. As you can see from the pictures, the paint is in great shape, however it is not perfect, mainly the front drivers side quarter panel. The body is in excellent condition. The interior is in great shape with the exception of the driver's side bolster, but everything else (door panels, dash, instuments) is in great shape. The A/C does not work. However, everything else including the power windows, seats, mirrors, all gauges, stereo, cruise control and rear spoiler all work perfectly. Another benefit of this 964 is that it is a 1992. By then Porsche had updated the engine (1991: adding a cylinder head gasket, redesigning the cylinder head base, and installing all steel head studs) to increase durability and reduce oil leaks and updated the transmission flywheel (1992: changed to LUK-manufactured units, which are more durable). The car runs very well and is nearly oil leak free (sometimes after a long drive, there is a drop or two on the floor). A local viewing is welcome. Also, I will assist with shipping if you are planning to have the car shipped to a different location. This is your chance to own a piece of automotive history as the 964's were the last of the classic porsche style and only 3,534 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Targas were ever produced. This car has been a pleasure to drive and I really hate to put it up for sale, but I just don't get to drive it as much as it deserves to be driven.
