Vehicle Detail

Very nice running 924. Clean interior. 81,467 miles. Car was bought from what I believe was the 2nd owner who owned it for 15 years. He was getting up in years so he put it into storage about 7 years ago. I bought it with the intention of having another daily driver. I knew him to be pretty a respectable guy, and he told me the car was running great when he stored it. He said the A/C was ice cold, and it had been a blast to drive. So I took a chance, and took it to get sorted out, did a compression and leak down test. Everything tested at full compression in every cylinder, and no leaks. Transmission shifts great. Clutch is good. Lights work, windshield wipers work. Windows, seats and mirrors all move fine. Has a bigger 944 radiator. No rust anywhere (galvanized.) Even has an original owners manual! Then did a full tune up, including: -New timing belt, -New water pump, -Valve adjustment, -Oil change. -New fuel filter. -New fuel pumps (they can go bad when sitting.) -Cleaned the fuel tank. Then went ahead and check the suspension. All was good as well. But did do a complete brake service: -New brake master cylinder -New brake pads -Rebuilt the calipers, -New wheel cylinders -New brake lines all around. Then while we were under there, put in new wheel bearings, new rear axles and boots. Then did some misc things like new rear hatch struts (yes, the trunk stays open, unlike any of them!) And a new battery. There are zero miles on these items. Ok, a few miles as I test drove everything was done right. It drove amazing! Not incredibly fast, but mainly, just about the best handling Porsche I ever drove! And about as cheap to maintain as a VW. I have paperwork for everything. And a crystal clean title. Car also includes a lot of extra parts! Interior is pretty clean compared to most, driver side non-ripped (sorry for the clutter it's all the extra parts included), and comes with nifty sheep skin covers. Arm rest console has some small holes. Paint could use major polish. And it's got a few 'kisses' here and there on the body (lower valance L side, and a few dings on the R fender. But for a daily driver, who cares?!) The reason I'm selling is that I don't use the car much. I've hurt my legs and the car has already been sitting again for half a year (occasionally started up), and don't know when I'll be able to climb into it again. So I am trying to find it a better home. You can have a great driver car with a nice clean original interior, better than most out there! And much more reliable than the problematic turbo version. Now that you know the good, these are what I know are not quite up to snuff, will be very honest, don't want anyone to have any surprises. Basically some bad wiring work that needs to be sorted out (but all except maybe the first are really non-essential items that do not effect the driveability of the car.): -Speedometer & tach work intermittently -Horn not working -Hazard blinker light in dash blinks constantly (when the hazards are not on) -Cannot get the A/C fan to turn on, so I cannot test it -The hatch does open, but sticks a bit sometimes. Catches need grease (car sitting too long) -Missing timing belt cover (believe it cracked upon removal) -Alternator bracket needs to be tightened -Title clean, but car not registered (CA people do not worry, since the car was in storage, there are very legal ways to avoid any back fees.) Some of these are pretty common issues with these cars, no matter how nice, they're going to have a few of these. At least you know in the meantime you can still get in and drive it where you need to go. That's about it. That's about everything I know of. I know I'll hate selling it, but I have to at this time. These cars are very cool. And this coming from a 911 guy. If you want to see a video of the car running, just let me know, I can email it to you. Thanks!
