Vehicle Detail

_____________________________________________ .............. 1979 BMW 633CSi .......... VIN #  5525149 ......... .... Manufactured by: Bavarian Motor Works, AG (Bayerische Motoren Werke AG) - 09-1979 .... Odometer is working - reads just 56,683 actual miles  .... ....... Exterior color:   Black ('Swartz') - color code 086  ....... ....... Interior color:   "Red leather seating -  with black and grey accents  .......  _____________________________________________ A nice example of an unrestored BMW 633CSi. Not a ton to say about the car ... it runs and drives but has spongy brakes and an electrical fault preventing all 4 windows from operating. The brakes in their present condition are not safe for driving on the road. Most likely the master cylinder will need rebuilding and perhaps a brake line replaced. If brake fluid is added to the reservoir it simply leaks out of the bottom of the car. This is a recent issue and I haven't addressed it., nor will I for this eBay sale This BMW 633CSi comes with an extra of 4 BMW wheels as shown in this photo. These wheels are in nice condition but the mounted tires are starting to show checking on their sidewalls.  I've never mounted these actual wheels and they might need spacers to do so. I will post photos of these 4 additional wheels in a couple of days. The wheels are in storage and I need to dig them out. Please check back and I will post photos of these wheels as an addendum to this eBay listing. The body is in nice condition and shows no signs of any previous accidents, fender benders or the like. The plastic lenses are in good condition all around. I'm not sure if this rear aluminum license plate panel is factory original or added by the previous owner. At any rate, I had planed to have it polished and leave it on the car as it looks so good. From any angle the body lines on these 6 series BMWs are pure classic. In my way of thinking, the best looking body design of the last 50 years. The paint is original (Black - BMW color code #086) and has a nice luster throughout. The aluminum bumpers are somewhat oxidized and will need polishing to look their best. This 1979 BMW has been in covered storage since 1994 ... thus the low miles and relative good condition. I purchased it a little over 4 years ago with all the good intentions of restoring it for a daily driver. I wanted a low mileage example with a good engine, body  and a 5-speed manual transmission.  I chose this one after looking at many over a period of several years. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since then and I've since moved on. The interior is all original and in quite good condition. Have a look at the following photos and judge for yourself. Original leather wrapped steering wheel. Odometer is working - reads just 56,683 actual miles.   Everything is as neat-n-tidy as one could ever hope for. The 5-speed manual transmission works fine.  It shifts crisply and the clutch engages properly. The 'Kenwood" sound system is not OEM, but rather a later addition. The trip computer is not working at this present time. This and the power window issue seem to be related ... either ad fuse issue or a loose connector under the dash or something like this.  Not serious problem I think, but something for someone with more electrical sense than me. Good headliner. Locking glove box functions as it should.   Door panels and door pockets are all in nice condition. The lower shroud on the steering column is detached as shown.   The previous owner looking for the electrical fault?  I just don't know? The floor pedals show light wear consistent with this vehicles low mileage. Both door panels are in very good condition as shown.   Doors & locks work smoothly as they should. The engine runs nicely.  It simple took a fresh battery and gas to bring it back to life after storage. 'K & N' air filter.  A couple of the engine bay informational stickers. New battery and a view of the fuse box. Good strut towers showing no signs of corrosion. Blue accents on the intake manifold and valve cover by previous owner ... certainly not my cup of tea. Informational sticker on the driver's side 'B' post. VIN tag, also on the driver's side 'B' post. It shows VIN # 5525149 - and a build date of September 1979. This VIN tag matches the VIN tab on the dashboard which if too hard to photograph through the glass.   Trunk lid mounted tool kit ... ... with an assortment of original tools. The trunk all neat-n-tidy. Trunk with carpet cover removed showing spare tire and storage well. Jack, lug wrench and 'BBS' wheel hubcap removal tool. This photo shows what little rust that is on the body. Just below the right lower side of the left rear lens.   The hood is in nice condition with just some minor stone chips. The sunroof has been painted with black primer paint ... done by previous owner. Easy enough to match with the shiny body color of black. With the exception of the flat black sunroof, the top is in nice condition. Curb-stop chips to the lower fairing as shown. Some shots of the original 'BBS basketweave' alloy wheels.  Tires are all checked from age.   The center hub on this right front wheel has a chunk out of it ... thus the addition of the newer style wheels. Paint chips and the like to the right hand side of the lower front fairing. Nice straight body lines on both sides. A few minor door dings that should be easily addressed by any competent 'paintless dent repair' guy. And, a few more photos to wrap up this eBay listing for my 1979 BMW 633CSi. This BMW 633CSi has a free and clear Maryland title that can be easily transferred  to its new owners. With it's low mileage and good body condition this 633CSi is well worth considering. The 6-series BMWs are true classics with enduring values not often seen in today's offerings. This BMW 633CSi drives nicely and has low miles but will need some minor attention to address both the brake and electrical issues.  Clean examples are hard to come by, please give this one some consideration. I hope you've enjoyed the tour and found it informative. As you can well see from the previous photos, this is an exceptional example of this 633CSi. You'd be hard pressed to find a better or more well cared for example. I've priced this BMW 633CSi very reasonability for the quality of the vehicle hope you'll recognize this. Low miles are nice but combine that with proper care over its life and it's a hard combination to beat. *********************************************** Full disclosure is what I'm after here .... I want you to know what your buying. This 1979 BMW 633CSi is not perfect in every way ...  There are minor imperfections as one would well expect ... very minor indeed.  Some paint chips and a few very minor scratches that can't possible be shown in photos like these.   If there is something I haven't covered please feel free to give a call at 410-310-3543 ... I'll be happy to help in any way I can. This BMW 633CSi accelerates very well, shifts crisply and handles quite nimbly.    The brakes are very spongy and will likely need the master cylinder rebuilt ... You will not be able to drive this car home with the brakes in their present condition. Also, there is an electrical fault that prevents the 4 power windows from operating - fuse, electrical connection?  If your in the market for a good example of an unrestored BMW 633CSi  ... then this one is well worth considering.
