1976 All Original Pontiac Ventura LOW MILES Description Up for auction: 1976 Ventura with 119 original miles, NOT A TYPO. This car was bought in Seattle area in 1976 and driven home. It was garaged and only driven twice a year to have the fluids checked. It has the original stickers in the trunk, original license plates, original purchase documents, along with other original paper work. It still has the original tires and air cleaner. The motor is a 4.3l V8 260 CI. The interior is all original and in near perfect condition. The headliner is loose. The hood has a slight blemish, about the size of a tennis ball. On the glove compartment there's an area, where the material is faded, it appears something may have rubbed against it. Please see pictures for closer details. Other than those minor problems, this car is as close to mint original as you get with a 38 year old car. It is a two door baby blue. Actually, the original purchase order states it is "athena blue". It is perfect. It starts right up and purrs. For the last eight years that we've owned the car, it has always been stored in an enclosed garage and transported on a flat bed trailer. We bought this car at a auction in Port Orchard Washington. Below is a notarized letter we received from Stokes Auction stating what they knew about the car. Here is exactly what the letter says: To Whom It May Concern: Stokes Auction was contacted by the attorney’s office to liquidate the marketable assets from the estate of Mr. Herwatic. Located in the garage of the estate was this 1976 Pontiac Ventura. The car was under a cover and completely surrounded by Mr. Herwatic’s personal belongings. After two and half hours of unloading the garage and moving the unmarketable merchandise aside, we were finally able to reach the car. Attached to the exhaust pipe of the car was an RV sewer pipe leading out of the garage. We found this strange and upon further inspection of the car realized that this car had been purchased new and since stored in its location. The odometer currently reads 116 miles and although the Stokes Auction cannot certify the odometer reading as actual miles, it does not take an expert to realize that this is in fact an unused vehicle. After going through the house we found all the records Mr. Herwatic kept for the Pontiac, which consisted of a journal of when the car was started and the tests he would conduct while the car was running (horn okay, blinkers okay, wipers okay, ect.) He continued this until 1988, after this date there is no further entries in the journal, except a note about giving the battery away to someone that needed it.
