Overview: You are bidding on a 1993 Mercedes Benz 400SEL. Midnight blue with Palomino leather. This is a car with only 43K original miles that has spent it's entire life in California. When you are lucky enough to find a W140 chassis as nice as this one, you can really appreciate how over engineered this vehicle was when it was introduced back in 1992. This car truly drives like a car with 43K miles. If you never drove one of these back in the day when they were first released, here is your chance to experience what an amazing driving experience it was. Please look at the photos carefully. I am extremely thorough and accurate in my description of this car. Although not perfect, it is probably the nicest low mile example you will ever find. Good luck. Engine: Starts immediately with no problem. Idles smoothly at 800 rpm. No hesitation, no missfire, no pinging whatsoever. Pulls strong all the way to redline. No smoke from the exhaust at any time, even when starting up cold. NO LEAKS anywhere! Garage floor is spotless! Transmission: Shifts from "Park" into "Drive" smoothly with no drama. Back and forth from "Drive" to "Reverse" with no clunk and with no hesitation at all. Up shifts smoothly and seamlessly through all gears just as it was designed. Kick down is equally smooth with no hard engaging and no slipping. Suspension: This car truly drives like a 43K mile vehicle. Suspension is tight and precise. No worn out components any where. Vehicle tracks straight and true. No wandering...no drifting at all. Paint: Paint is all original. No accidents. No panels have been removed. Front plastic bumper was repainted to remove the normal scratches accumulated over the years. Driver side front fender was painted to repair a shopping cart scratch, but it was never removed. Paint has nice shine everywhere. Small 3 inch blemish on passenger side of hood where a bird did it's number and is still visible(see last photo). Few dings that are so minor, I did not feel they were worth photographing. Interior: As you can see in the photos, the interior is immaculately original. No rips, wear, or holes in the leather, carpets dash pad or headliner. Electrical: ALL electrical components are in perfect working order. All windows, seats, moonroof, locks, lights, radio, antenna, work as they were designed to. Air conditioner is ICE COLD. Automatic Climate Control works perfectly, constantly monitoring inside temperature and making the necessary corrections. There are NO warning lights on the dash. Tires/Brakes: Michelin MXV's all around. These are the original factory recommended tires, and they are a great choice. Smooth ride. Excellent mileage. 60% wear left on them. Seem to be wearing evenly as normal(see photos). Full size tire with matching alloy wheel in trunk. All tools and jack are present. Brakes are at 75% all around. No squeaking. No "Brake Shake" due to worn rotors. No excess brake dust. Vehicle stops in a straight line every time with absolutely no issues.
