This is one of 3675 1969 Camaro Z-11 pace car replicas. This particular car was produced in Norwood with a 350 engine and auto trans. It was bought in 1971 as a graduation present for the son of the lady from whom I bought it. This car was running when parked around 2006 and was used daily until then. Prior owner was in construction and pulled a trailer with this Camaro - The hitch is still in place. It has been garage kept since 2007. Although it was running when parked, my plans were for a complete restoration of this car to get it into the shape it deserves. It should not be considered a "survivor". At some point the original engine was removed and I do not have that block. The prior owner can not recall changing the engine so I assume it was exchanged before they purchased it. Unsure if the transmission is numbers matching, I never looked since the engine was not and it didn't matter to me. I have no leads on locating the original engine. I put a new battery in and never got the starter fire. No other efforts have been made to start it. I am not sure of the condition of the engine and trans. This car has had both quarters and partial floor and trunk pans replaced. The work could use some clean-up of the welds. I believe the passenger door skin was replaced as well. The floors and trunk seems solid. Those doing the work coated the trunk and floors with some sort of spray-on liner. Trunk pan has surface rust stains on the liner from tools that were left in the trunk rather than gross rust of the pan itself. It needs a new deck lid. Frame rails and underneath look solid. The car appears complete, with all the pace car parts except the air cleaner assembly. The title is clean.
