Well, here we are again. I ran this auction 4 weeks ago and the winning bidder apparently wasn't interested enough to pay for the car, so we'll try this one more time. And before we get started, if you aren't interested in buying this car enough to actually pay for it, don't waste your time or mine, OK ? Please afford me the same respect and follow through on any bid you might place. Thanks. OK, ... back the car ! A car we fin lovers dream of finding. A top line model, all the rare performance option stuff, and in a desirable/rare body style. I mean, who orders a go-fast wagon ?! I had the opportunity to speak with both the original owner in the 1980's and later purchased the car from his son, I we have a pretty good history on the car, if you are into that sort of thing like I am. This 2 owner car was special ordered from Eddy's Garage, Deadwood, South Dakota. Mom wanted a wagon and chose the colors, Dad insisted on the D500 package, which for 1956 meant 315 Hemi, large brakes, HD springs, and sway bar. Car is complete and original, and engine turns over, but needs total restoration. Some rust in typical places, but overall pretty solid for this year and model. Previous owner did body work and paint that needs to be redone, so I am selling this car essentially as a barn find/ as found condition car. All glass is good. Appears to be complete except for missing antenna and aftermarket oil filler cap. I won't get all flowery telling you how awesome this car is like so many other ebay sellers. Anyone who knows Forward Look cars knows how rare this beast is. Only a couple are known to survive. It is tired, but all there and VERY restorable. Could be fixed up as you drive/enjoy it, or go for a full restoration. One thing for sure, you will be the only one driving up in a 56 D500 wagon. Car is being sold with original steel wheels and wheelcovers. Feel free to ask any specific questions. Potential buyers are invited to inspect this car in person. This is a no reserve auction.
