For the history buffs: The 1970 240Z was introduced to the American market by Yutaka Katayama, president of Nissan Motors USA operations, widely known as Mr. K. The 1970 through the mid-1971 model year 240Z was referred to as the Series I. These early cars had many subtle but notable features differing from later cars. The most easily visible difference is that these early cars had a chrome "240Z" badge on the sail pillar, and two horizontal vents in the rear hatch below the glass molding providing flow through ventilation. In mid-1971, for the Series II 240Z-cars, the sail pillar emblems were restyled with just the letter "Z" placed in a circular vented emblem, and the vents were eliminated from the hatch panel of the car. Design changes for the U.S. model 240Z occurred throughout production, including interior modifications for the 1972 model year. He only put 149 miles on it since the completion. Potent Chevy 350 V8 coupled to a Turbo 350 transmission with B&M Shifter Engine compartment is all shaved and professionally finished to fit the V8 and look the part! Edelbrock Performer Aluminum intake Front Disc Brakes Holley Double Pumper with a Hitachi high volume electric fuel pump. Aluminum radiator with an electric fan. Suspension upgraded with front and rear anti way bars with polyurethane bushings. Front and Rear strut were replaced with heavier coils. The Exterior Paint is very very nice.....recently finished and has a great shine....and a nice straight body. The Exterior trim, chrome, stainless and emblems are for the most part original and still very presentable. The Rubber on the front bumperettes is all we could really point to as needing to be changed. The Wheel and Tire setup is new and the Custom 15" Wheels give it a classic and period correct look. The Glass is all in great shape...no chips or cracks. Many original decals were left on the car in their proper location to show how clean and original this car started. The Interior is filled with Custom features. Center Console Autometer Gauges...which all work. It is a blend of original and replacement materials and the dark walnut colored seat inserts and headliner trim...along with the custom steering wheel....looks very classy. The interior vents grills are missing ....very minor replacement issue and the glove box door needs some adjustment. This very cool customized yet original appearing 240Z with a potent 350 V8 for added fun is just a blast to drive. It handles very well and is a pleasure to drive. The owner spent 100's of hours planning and assisting in the build and unfortunately was unable to enjoy it too long.
