Vehicle Detail
Up for auction, beautiful 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe. I am a classic/custom car dealer and collected this vehicle for my wife several years ago. I purchased it from a gentleman in California. His uncle purchased the car new, and gifted it to him a few years before I got it. According to the information they gave me, it has been registered in the same family it’s entire life! They had the original engine (327) rebuilt. It is built very well, not your typical parts store rebuild, with lots of expensive parts (billit, chrome etc). It is very fast and solid. The transmission appears to be a turbo 350 (unsure of that). It has a new larger disc brake conversion with power brakes just installed, power steering etc. This isn’t your typical rust bucket that has had all the panels replaced. All the metal is solid, and appears to be original. There appears to be little or no filler in the entire car. It has been stored inside in a climate controlled facility since I have owned it. The tires are nearly ne. It was repainted a few years ago, paint is in great shape. The interior has been done a little retro, and is in near perfect condition. The car overall is in near perfect condition top to bottom. It needs a couple of the weather strips and window felts could use replacing (OPGI should have all these for a couple hundred bucks). Overall this is a very nice car. If you are looking for a Riddler award or planning a trip to Pebble beach any time soon, this is not your car. If you want an unmolested, not patched together, solid car that you can drive anywhere to any local car show and wow the crowd …this is your car. Bid now, bid fast, and bid often! It will sell. The reserve is set at an amount you would expect to pay for a rolling restorable chassis. The question of the day is…do you want to spend twice as much over the next several years building one like it or just get in and enjoy one today?? The car is listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early as long as the reserve has not been met.
