Vehicle Detail
This 1923 Buick Five Passenger Touring Car is finished in a green exterior with black convertible top and interior. Not many may recall that Buick was the No. 1 producer of automobiles in 1908 --surpassing the combined production of Ford and Cadillac, its closest competitors. Buick was also where a number of major contributors to U.S. auto history first headed an auto-building company. So to find an example of Buick Heritage from 1923 comes with quite a bit of clout. This 5 Passenger Touring Car was privately owned and stored in a climate controlled room within an antique store for many of years. Stored correctly on blocks with fluids drained, this Phaeton was just recently refreshed and brought up to running and driving standards. Truly a barn find or more correctly and antique store find and still titled on its vintage 1967 era Texas title. This is an older restoration which is finished in hunter green paint with black fenders and a black interior. The headlight bezels, door handles and other assorted trim are in the correct nickel plated finish. This is not a frame off restored vehicle but rather a drivable look into the past. With some items still original from when built. It is absolutely amazing that this Buick still contains her matching number inline 4 cylinder engine! Please inspect the photographs as it has nicks and chips and some age, you will notice the impeccable top and motor compartment and interior. This vehicle has been well cared for yet not over restored. Please let us know if you need additional pictures or have additional pictures. The Series 23 Buick's rode on a 118-inch wheelbase and were powered by a four-cylinder engine. They came in a wide variety of body-styles including roadster, touring sedan, sedan, and touring. The Touring body-style was the most popular and obviously the most expensive option. For the 1923 model year, Buick styling was substantially improved with crowned fenders, cowl lights and new drum-shaped headlights. The 1923 Buick also received a fresh appearance with its new grille design; this feature would remain virtually unchanged through 1927. Technical improvements included repositioned rear spring hangers, a lower suspension system and a transmission lock.
