Vehicle Detail

This is a 1958 Edsel Citation 4-door Hardtop with the E475 engine and a TeleTouch controlled automatic transmission. The TeleTouch was totally rebuilt by one of the top Edsel guys in the country (Harv Woebbeking). This car also has some very rare options on it, even for a top of the line Citation. When was the last time you saw factory air conditioning on ANY car from the 50’s? Many cars now have add on AC, but very few left the factory with it and how many of those are still around? Not many. This one isn’t currently functioning, but everything seems to be there from the compressor under the hood to the controls and vents on the dash. Plus, the dash vents are not sun faded, they are in great shape. This set up is definitely very rare and very desirable. It also has Power Windows (this is almost as rare as factory AC and all of the windows & switches work, plus the windows are tinted), Remote Trunk Release (works great), Speed Warning (works great), Power Steering (works great), Power Brakes (works great, Treadle Vac totally rebuilt by Karps in CA, other brake components replaced were wheel cylinders, hoses, shoes and all associated hardware), Compass (works, but not sure how accurate it is), T&C Radio with Power Antenna (not working), a padded dash (loose around the speaker grille) and rocker moldings. The odometer reads 59K miles. I don’t have a way to verify that mileage to be actual, but the brake pedal and gas pedal both look to have had light use. Plus, when the wheel bearings were done, the grease seals were still Ford script parts which would be unusual for 159K miles. The gas tank has been totally restored and comes with a Lifetime warranty from a nationwide company. A new sending unit was installed too, so the gas gauge works great. The interior has had brand new carpeting installed and everything else appears to still be original. That’s another reason I believe the mileage to be accurate because the interior isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty nice for being 55 years old. The front seat tops have some staining on them. I wiped them off with soap and water, but it didn’t help much. They may still clean up fine, I just didn’t want to get too aggressive and harm something. The body was restored and repainted many years ago, most likely in the 80’s, then the car was parked in a gravel floored pole shed. It looks like they did a nice job on the restoration as the paint is even and shiny all over. The driver fender has a couple of dents in the top, I assume from someone being careless while it was stored. Also while stored, the driver side tires went flat and that side sat closer to the ground, so the very bottom portions have some blisters on them. (See pics.) The passenger side tires stayed up, so the passenger side doesn’t have that problem. I tried to show the “bad” spots and I do have a ton more pictures, even some underneath. If there is something else in particular you’d like to see, feel free to ask. I have been driving it around our neighborhood and it’s been a lot of fun. The right rear tire has a vibration, so I would install new tires if you were going to highway drive it, but it's been fine for me. People love riding in a car with "the flying saucer speedometer" and the "shifter in the steering wheel". Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. You are certainly welcome to check the Citation out in person and take it for a test drive before bidding if you’d like. I may be able to help with delivery, depending on where you live. If that’s an option you may be interested in, just send me a question and I’ll give you an estimate. Thanks. It’s hard to find a car that screams the 1950’s louder than a pink Edsel!!
