Nice looking '70 R60/5 motorcycle that would be a perfect daily driver or original restoration. If you are looking for a rider R60 that you can enjoy or just a bike like you used to have back in the day, look no further. The electric start works fine and the engine has spark but it doesn’t start yet. We’ve traced it back to low compression on the left cylinder so expect a top end rebuild. The bike has it’s original 1970 cylinders with matching factory stampings so it’s time for a rebuild anyway. I purchased this BMW R60 a while back but a recent Ducati 450 RT acquisition means this bike has to go:-( to fund the Ducati. A picture is worth a thousand words so I’ll let the pictures do the talking. A few notes I need to mention are the gas tank has a previous owner repair that is substandard and needs to be reworked. The original mufflers were missing, it came with new factory OEM style aftermarket mufflers so I installed them for the photos. The main stand spring is missing also. The bike was set up for touring and the original Daytona fairing (with original BMW front turn signals) and BMW rear luggage hard bags came with the bike when I purchased it. I dug them out of the attic the other day and they will go with the bike. One rear luggage rack is busted so I would imagine a laydown damaged that bag and the original mufflers. The cylinder heads and covers were untouched and unscarred as the crashbars functioned as intended. Photos show a missing BMW gas tank roundel badge but that is included along with 2 new petcock rebuild kits that I purchased. Original toolbag is included too. Since this motor cycle is for sale locally I reserve the right to end the auction early. A $500 deposit via Paypal is due within 2 business days to secure your interest in this motorcycle after winning it and full balance is due within 5 business days after auction end. If you are mailing payment just mail it Priority Mail with signature return receipt. Your new bike is located in Seattle, WA 98198 and I would prefer the winner to pick up the bike or have your shipper pick it up but if you need some time to arrange shipping after you win it I'll store your new bike in my garage up to a month with full payment until you or your shipper can come get it. It would be beneficial to both parties to talk live after the auction ends to arrange final details so expect a phone call Sunday night after you win it. Original Washington State issued title is included with the bike.
