This is an excellent “driver” level car, that underwent a sympathetic restoration in the late 1990’s. She has been regularly driven, and has developed a nice Patina since the work was done. Photographs and records of the restoration, in addition to a portfolio of maintenance records document all of the work done. All panels, doors and glass were removed during the process of repainting the car. Her MEDIUM BLUE METALLIC PAINT is in excellent condition, with deep shine and good luster. The front fenders were fitted and all typical problem areas were addressed. The interior was addressed as well the seats and carpets were replaced/restored. A long list of mechanical components were replaced as well including; steering linkages, fuel tank, steering box, transmission cooler hoses, front and rear wheel bearings, front brake lines, power steering pump, timing chain tensioners and guides, water pump, and master brake cylinder. The paint and chrome are in original condition look good, and have a mild patina. The BLUE interior shows well, the seats have no major blemishes (some wear is evident on the drivers bolster) and the door cards are unblemished. She will need a replacement soft top, as there are some rips and wear. The hardtop is in excellent condition. This 280 SL is an honest driver quality 280SL that can be enjoyed immediately, or would make a good starting point for a high level restoration.
