Vehicle Detail
1977 Mercedes 280 SLC ( A Texas Barn Find) 1977 Mercedes 280 SLC A Texas Barn Find I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles. Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle. This is one of those items: We received this 280 SLC from an estate of a 93 year old gentleman who was a B-29 pilot in WW II. The car was part of his collection of cars and airplanes. He purchased the car in 1985 and after driving for a few years he parked it in his airplane hangar until now. Per pictures, after we received the car all we did was wash off over 20 years of dust. The car is automatic with Air conditioning and is loaded. This means that it even has an electric sun roof. The car needs a complete restoration since it was sitting for so many years. This restoration should start with draining the gas tank as we haven’t even tried to start the car because there is a lot of old gas in it. The car’s interior is almost in perfect shape. But the outside needs a lot of work because there are some rust areas on the car. Please refer to the pictures as they show the rust areas. The car has a clear Texas title and comes with all the receipts kept by the owner. You can restore the car and enjoy it or you can use it as a part’s car if you wish. So bring your trailer and we will help you load it up. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Remember that this classic car is 37 years old. Please remember that things always look better in pictures. So you are more than welcome to come see it in person. Your bid is your contract. Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item. We require a $300 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes and the remaining balance within a week. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The car will be sold as is, with no warranty or guarantee. We reserve the right to cancel any bid for excessive negative feedback. And I may also advertise it locally.
