Vehicle Detail

Triumph Italias and later Italia 2000s were a very limited motorcar produced in Italy on a TR3 chassis between 1958 and 1962.there was a total production of 329 cars, this car, body # 312 is an even rarer series II car with a production run of 30. The original owner purchased this car from a dealer in Georgia in 1965.The $5,000 price was an impediment to sales even for a Michelotti designed Vignale built body. A number of these cars sat on dealer lots for over a year as was the case with this car. I purchased this car from the original owner in 1978. Shortly after purchasing the car I put it in storage ( 1980 ) Mechanically the car is extremely sound. There is minimal body rust , The interior is original and in poor shape. The original owner had the car re-sprayed yellow from it's original burgundy . This is a very solid car and a straightforward and easy restoration project . All the mechanical parts are conventional TR-3 and easy to obtain. On Sep-04-14 at 11:59:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Triumph Italias and later Italia 2000s were a very limited motorcar produced in Italy on a TR3 chassis between 1958 and 1962.there was a total production of 329 cars, this car, body # 312 is an even rarer series II car with a production run of 30.
