Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1972 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe. I bought this car in Arizona in 1997 and brought it with me when I moved to California in 1998. The car is compeltely rust-free and it has an interesting history. It was owned by a US Navy Chaplain who bought the car brand new in Naples, Italy in 1972. He brought the car back to the US and drove it until I purchased it. I am the second owner. When I bought the car, the original paint was faded and the interior was worn. I had both of these items redone in their original style and they are still in excellent shape. Note, the car is dark blue, even though it looks black in the pictures. The 1972 Fiat paint code is 456 (Dark Blue), which is on the vehicle ID plate in the engine bay. The original owner, Father Dunn, kept meticulous records, which the car comes with. This includes all manuals, along with the original sales and Customs paperwork from 1972! There is also a large stack of receipts documenting everything done to the car. Please see pictures. This car is unusual in that it has US side marker lights, but a European engine and carburetor setup (dual Webers). After I purchased it, I changed the stock shocks for Koni yellows and fitted some NOS Pirelli P6 tires. Other than that, the car is stock and as original as can be. As far as I can tell, there are no signs of accidents anywhere. The car is straight and clean. Please see the pictures and let me know if you have any questions. I believe this is an exceptional example of this model, so I have priced it accordingly because I'm looking for someone who truly appreciates these cars, and sees their potential for appreciation in the coming years.
