I have a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 for sale. I purchased this car from a gentlemen in San Diego about 2 yrs ago and planned on restoring what little was needed. It does not have the original drivetrain. It has a 350 from a 71' firebird, an automatic TH400 transmission with a manual valve body (reverse pattern), and an open rear end. The body is in great shape with very little rust. Small rust spot around rear glass and behind rear passenger wheel.It has some nicks in the paint (charcoal in color). The interior is in good shape. The original floor console has been removed but is included in the sale. It was removed in order to install the B&M ratchet shifter. As you can see in the pictures the shifter does not have the base on it (included in sale) and even with the base, the carpet will need to be patched or replaced. The ratchet shifter was installed because even though this is an automatic, you still have to shift gears. I installed new shocks and front springs. I upgraded the 350 with an Edelbrock performer intake and a new 600 cfm 4 bbl carb (Holly style). Also installed was a new aluminum radiator, HEI distributor, and power steering gear box. The engine runs but needs to have the oil pan gasket replaced because it leaks most of the oil out over time. The rear axle bearings also need to be replaced. The car is drivable but I wouldn't recommend it until the axle bearings are changed. It has recently restored Rally II wheels (15") with new tires. I purchased a Pontiac 400 ci engine that I was going to have installed but didn't get to. It is included in this auction. I was told it was never used. This is a great car and wouldn't take a lot to get it going. I've had some life changes and I no longer have the time to fix it up the way it needs to be done. This is a project car. It needs work but is in good condition for its age.
