PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION PRIOR TO BIDDING PLEASE I have up for auction this NON-RUNNING 2007 Suzuki XL-7. I purchased it in it's current inoperable condition and know very little about the vehicle. I was told by the previous owner he was driving down the highway when it started losing power and eventually stalled entirely and hasn't been operable since. A mechanic told him the timing belt had slipped. After doing some research I found this 3.6L engine utilizes a series of chains and gears rather than a belt in it's valve timing system. The engine currently turns over, has a slight backfire through the exhaust system but makes no attempt to start. Maybe it is something simple but I wouldn't count on it, these engines are known to have timing chain problems. Timing kits are available on Ebay with prices as low as $312.83(item#251525482407). There are 2 possible timing kits used in this engine, an early edition and a 2nd edition, I don't know which is required for this engine. The vehicle has All Wheel Drive, windshield has a crack but other glass is good, has 3 rows of seats, interior is extremely dirty (looks like soda or cappacino has been spilled) but not worn tore up, and has the usual parking lot dents and several small hail dings. The previous owner said it was in good mechanical condition in spite of the 219000 miles so he put new Hankook tires on it just prior to it laying down.
