I cleaned it up a little for the photos and took many photos for you because a photo is worth a thousand words. If you’re looking for an E30 325ix, this is the one. This car has been an Eastern Washington car it’s whole life so there is no rust. Eastern Washington is a dry arid environment with hot summers so the interior is sun faded in spots (the top of the back seat for example) and the clear coat is starting to peel and it needs a deep detail but overall the car presents well for being 25+ years old and the body is nice and straight. I just drove it from Yakima to Seattle, WA without a care and I would feel confident driving it across the country. There were no weird noises or strange sounds and my overall impression was one of confidence for a car with 195,000 miles. This was an adult owned car and maintained by the BMW dealer it’s whole life. Here are a few quick points: Air Conditioning blows cold New battery No drivetrain whine or clicking noises Steers straight Brakes straight No brake pedal pulsing No exhaust system leaks All the lights work Nice dash, no cracks Cruise control works Both mirrors work Includes 4 studded snow tires Mechanically this car is solid – drive it home. My drive from Yakima to Seattle was in 95 degree heat at 80+ mph with the AC blasting cold and the temperature gauge never went past the middle. What this car does need is a passenger side window motor ($40-$90 on eBay) or possibly the window switch itself (cheaper). The sunroof tracks need lubricating because the sunroof panel moves back and forward but only a little bit. That tells us the motor and switch is good it just needs less rolling resistance. All other electrical is functioning as expected (except the radio displays “code” because we replaced the battery). There are no warning lights or check engine lights, the on board diagnostic system display above the rear view mirror is clean with not a trouble light in sight. The on board computer works fine too but the readout display is dim during the day. The previous owner used a dashmat to protect the dash and seat covers to protect the leather upholstery and it worked – they lie about the cars mileage. The Recaro style front seats are in good condition with normal driver’s seat hip bolster wear, they are not dry or cracked but they do need some leather interior conditioner to bring back the suppleness. The back seat is faded with a small seam split as noted and pictured. The original BMW basket weave wheels need 2 center caps but they are straight with just normal curb marks that you would expect on a 25+ year old car. To recap, we have some sun fading wear and peeling clear coat that normally happens in warm weather climates, an above average drivetrain due to the owner’s gentle and respectful driving habits, and an electrical system that is stock and untampered with down to the original BMW radio. If you’re looking for an E30 325ix, this is the one.
