Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1982 Honda CB900F Supersport. It has ~14,000 miles on and is in great shape. The rider who I bought it from barely rode it and have done my best to make it a very reliable vintage bike. Within the past 1500 miles I have performed the following upgrades/services: added a voltmeter and ammeter, added a luggage rack, installed new old stock case guards, the fork seals have rebuilt, front & rear brakes have been rebuilt and new pads added, cleaned and rebuilt the carbs with new o-rings, new battery, new spark plugs, fresh oil, new battery, and new components for the entire charging system. All work was performed by a certified motorcycle mechanic. My goal was to make this 32 year old bike as reliable as possible and I think I have managed to do so. It is a gorgeous bike and pretty darn quick. I am only now selling because I no longer have the time ride and it is just collecting dust in my garage. The seat is a Corbin and very, very comfortable. The bike will come with the original owner's manual and a clymer's service manual. The bike will also come with it's original seat, but, as you can see, it would need to be re-covered. The bike is close to being 100% stock. The case guards and luggage rack are aftermarket parts that are from the era. In fact, the case guards were new-old stock. The two meters that I mentioned (the ammeter and voltmeter) are great for monitoring the health of the charging system, but, if you want a totally stock bike, you can remove them without much effort. Also, they are mounted to the gauge cluster using existing mounting screws (so, there was no damage or drilling involved in their installation). The bike is a total joy to ride and performs great for an old bike. In fact, the pictures were taken just after a ride which took me through some twisties and on the interstate at 75 mph. Despite it being a "naked" bike, it handles those speeds with perfect stability. While I have owned the bike, I have only used non-ethanol gasoline. The title is clean and there are no liens on the bike. Just by way of total, 100% disclosure, the great State of North Carolina (in their infinite wisdom) issued me a title when I bought the bike that listed it as a 1983. If necessary, this can be corrected with an affidavit from me stating this was an error. Will be transferring over all paperwork with the bike. You will note that I list the bike as having 14,200 miles on it. It does, however, have less than that as you can see from the pictures. I listed it as having that many miles because I am still riding and having fun on this thing and will until it is sold :) I will work with you to find a time good for you to pick up the motorcycle after I receive payment. If you need to arrange shipment of the bike, I will do my best to work with you or your shipper, but, it MUST be picked up within 30 days of the close of the auction. The buyer is responsible for ALL shipping costs including the preparation of the bike for shipment. The winner is to make a non-refundable deposit of $500 via Paypal within 24 hours from when the auction ends. The remaining amount is to be paid via bank cashier's check or USPS money order within 7 days of when the auction ended. Remember, as a 32 year old motorcycle, this is sold as-is with no warranties express or implied.
