Vehicle Detail

1971 white Convertible Volkswagen Super beetle flat window. Numerous parts replaced & repairs done in excess of $12k, I have receipts for work done in a big folder that comes with the car. All recent work done within the last couple years has been through Kombihaus of Sacramento (best mechanic I have ever dealt with). This car is a fantastic, very cute, daily driver with nothing wrong that I can think of aside from the horn being disconnected at the steering wheel (I have had everything I know of repaired or replaced that I could find not working). Being a 43 year old convertible, it is not air tight (as none are I am told by VW mechanics, enthusiasts, and the folks showing theirs at Bug-o-ramas-- I assume they know a little something about this topic)... I always keep it parked in the garage, and don't drive in heavy rain. However, we just moved, and I will no longer have a garage to park it in, and am not happy to sell it as I have put in a ton of money and work in this car. Apparently gaining a husband and combining houses means I lose my favorite car- my loss is your gain. We have 5 VW's and this is by far the best one with no work needed, ready to go. It has a waterproof car cover also that comes with the car. It has been a work commuter/daily driver, with the exception of occasional days where I have to drive my truck, and days when it is in the shop for regular maintenance. It gets regular oil changes at least every three months (I have a short 4 mile commute so I never even get to 500 miles in that time, and still change the oil, clean or replace the plugs, get a carb adjustment if needed, have the valves checked & adjusted if needed, as well as timing). Some of the miscellaneous repair/replacement work done & details on the car condition:Rebuilt 1600 cc engine currently has just over 12k miles, compression tested great, tach is now at a little over 126k miles totalall new brakes/lines checked & replaced as needed, new master cylinder, repaired E-brakeNew Electronic Ignition009 DistributorNew Carb with professionally bored out jets to run with the 009 DistributorNew fuel pumpNew Cap, Rotor, and Spark Plug wires (plugs regularly checked & cleaned or replaced (Bosch only)New fuel lines & filters changed regularlyNew Air filter with after market Chrome housingNew drive beltNew voltage regulatorNew ignition coilnew/replaced/repaired wiring (everything works, entire system inspected by Kombihaus during repairs)New wiper motorNew bulbs in some of the dash components, full inspection done on the entire car for mechanical, electrical, etc.new convertible topheadliner in great shape, all windows presentNew interior (including seat covers, panel covers and full carpet)3 new rear seat beltsFront shoulder seat belts replaced previously (all work fine)Seats work, nothing broken, mechanisms functionDrivers side window mechanisms repaired/replacedPassenger side interior door latch mechanism repaired/replacedConvertible driver side top latch replacedDoor handles replaced at some point, both work, and lockRecent paint (not show quality- it was done by a local repair shop in West Sacramento by previous owner and I personally would not have accepted it as-is because I am picky, but it looks great as a daily driver. If you want to show you will need to sand and repaint, or repair as needed)New batteryNew rear shocksFront end has some of the suspension parts replaced (as all Super Beetles should)- drives great, no shake, no shimmy, inspected fineTight steering, handles and drives great, does freeway speeds with ease.Pan is solid, No holes needing patches This car is ready to turn the key and drive. I love this car, it is fantastic to drive with the top down, gets many compliments, and gets great gas mileage. Please note this car is from 1971- it is NOT NEW, so you are bound to find other items that may break or end up needing to be fixed, just like any other 43 year old car. I simply have not found any yet, nor did they show up on the full inspection with the mechanic. This car is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed nor implied. Email me if you want more pictures, I can text or email them. Buyer to arrange shipping/pick up.
