Up for sale is my beautiful 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air 2 Door hardtop. I have had the car for many years. Car came originally form California. It was in storage from 1987 to 2003, was restored and licensed in 2006. The body and the frame are original to the car with the exception of the driver’s side quarter panel. Full California box frame, original floorboards, trunk pan, fenders, doors, etc. The drivers side quarter panel was replaced with a full quarter due to it being (washboarded) damaged, metal was stretched to where I could not straighten it out. The frame was sandblasted and painted. The car has a 10 bolt rear axle with coil over 4 link. Tubular A arms, new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, ect by Poly-Plus. A 373 Posi by Eaton was installed in rear axle with all new bearings and bushings. The power train consists of a 383 stroker backed by a tremic 5 speed. It has power brakes; front disk rear drum, Triple flow aluminum radiator, cooling fan, and vintage air conditioning, exhaust on vehicle is shortly headers with aluminized pipe and flowmaster mufflers. We added an IDIDIT tilt wheel, locker pedals, all new front and rear windows, including side glass with new chrome trim and tinted glass. Dakota gauges. All new weather strip, emblems, scripts, etc. All wiring was updated with American AutoWire Kit. The interior kit was installed out of North Carolina. The car is currently sitting on 17” American Racing wheels with 215 50 17” tires. The front bumper is original to the car, it is the one piece California bumper, it needs to be rechromed. The rear is a new three piece, it does have a dent in the center portion. There are a few little things that still need to be done. Rear Ash trays , sunvisors, domelight switches, A/C charging, vacuum canister at power brakes, etc. I believe it has developed a power steering leak (it has a 605 gearbox). Car stays in storage most of the time, as I don’t have much time to devote to her. She shows a little under 1000 miles since completed, shows some wear here and there. I decided to sell since I have no time to enjoy, and I have my second child headed to college next fall. She is not a perfect car but she is a good one just needs someone who has time to do the little things. I also have a 265-56 model that will go with the car.
