Vehicle Detail

1966 mustang 289ci, C code, 3-speed manual. Factory Candy apple red, rare dealer installed bench seat. Body- 65A Standard (dealer installed bench seat) Color- T Candy Apple Red Trim- 25 Red w/Red trim Date- 10F 10th of June DSO- 74 Seattle Axle- 6 2.80:1 Trans.- 1 3-speed manual Bought new at South Gate Ford in Seattle, Washington. Owned by the same family for 48 years. Mr. Walter Smith bought this car new in 1966 at South Gate Ford and kept it until 1991 when he gave it to his son, Sprouse, for his 50th birthday. Sprouse, now 73 years old, decided to sell because of health issues and he didn't want the car to get neglected. Nearly every piece of paperwork, maintenance receipt, and record has been kept. Original owners manual with owners name, vin# info, Ford owners card, copy of the window sticker, dealership photo, both sets of original keys with leather dealership key protector stamped "South Gate Ford", service manual have all been kept. All numbers and codes match color, interior, engine, trans. etc Body- Paint It's had one repaint approx. 15-16 years ago the original color Candy Apple Red. All sheet metal is original and all stamped on the fenders and quarters in trunk lip. No patch work. Never wrecked. The car is super solid with no rust issues. The paint is very presentable, not perfect, but very good driver+ quality. All the glass is original Ford stamped. Wheels- Original wheels, Ford stamped steel wheels with deluxe hubcap spinners and Coker dual redlines to replicate as it came from the factor. The original dual redline spare is still in the trunk and has never been used. It still has the nipples on the tire. Original spare tire tools. Interior- The interior on this car is amazing. Everything is original except the carpet, dash console door and sill plates. The seats, dash, door panels, head liner, gauges, steering wheel all are about as perfect as they can be. Rare dealer installed bench seat. Original seat belts stamped and dated. All the gauges, lights, horn, radio work, wipers, heater controls work. Yes, even the fuel gauge. The radio and speakers have been updated. Nothing was cut. It is a direct fit and the original a.m. radio is included. Since it has been in the same family for 48 years, this mustang has been very well taken care of and very well maintained. It drives great. Its super smooth driving around town or cruising 70-80 mph down the interstate. Brakes, clutch, all work great and the engine pulls and sounds like only a 289 can. Its really one of the best driving classic cars I've ever had. Its simply a blast to drive. I think the pictures, description, and details show how good this car is but please call or email with any specific questions.
