Vehicle Detail
You are looking at one of my collection of cars that I am selling for personal reasons. This is a 1973 Scamp. I purchased this extremely clean car from a retired elderly mechanic who personally built it. He purchased it from a elderly lady's estate with 38000 original miles . This car was kept in a heated garage and it is in amazing shape underneath, interior and exterior. The car was originally a 6 cylinder and it was a one owner before becoming a project car. The interior is in like new condition. Carpets, seats, door panels, headliner, dash are perfect. The vinyl top is original and it is almost perfect with the exception of a few tiny bubbles forming on the bottom of the rear window and is certainly not worth fixing. The car was repainted and the builders told me he repainted it because the paint was fading. He repainted it the same Inca Gold color but used the base coat clear coat paint. I cannot find any plastic filler anywhere on the car and he told me the body was perfect before the paint job. On the right rear bottom quarter panel, there are a few tiny bubbles starting , however the metal is solid front and back. This is the only imperfection on the body and this imperfection is not easy to find, (it is pictured). The trunk is perfect with the original mat and the original spare. Included in the trunk is an extra spare tire. The underneath is absolutely perfect with no rust . It has dual exhaust that is solid and the mufflers are solid however the paint has worn off from sitting. The mufflers have cut outs with drop pipes for racing that are pictured in the trunk. The engine is a complete rebuild. It is a 1962 Chrysler 413 Wedge, bored .30 over, new rods and crank shaft , hi pressure oil pump (produces 60 lbs at idle, new camshaft with a lift of: intake 427, exhaust 454 , duration intake is 204 exhaust 216, it has a new double roller timing chain, it has a mechanical fuel pump and electric fuel pump with 3/8 fuel lines into the replaced fuel sending unit in the tank, heads are from a 440 Chrysler with 452 casting with hardened seats cut .30 with three angle valve job and hemi valve springs, it has a edelbrock performer 440 with a 750 cfm carb, a Chrysler hi-performance distributor with accel wires and a hi-performace ecu unit, the exhaust manifolds are from a 1968 - 383 engine, the transmission is a 727 automatic with a fresh rebuild with hemi clutches etc.., a 2800 stall convertor, Bouchillon cable equipped kick down, the rear end is a 8 3/4- 489 housing with posh traction, when i bought the car the ration was 323.1, I had them professionally changed to 3.73, the 323.1 gears will also be included and they are in perfect condition, rear is completely rebuilt to include new brakes, springs, retainers, etc, the rear springs are stock with extra 1985 Ford leafs installed. ALL OF THESE SPECS WERE GIVEN TO ME FROM THE MAN I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AND WHO REBUILT IT. The front tires are 14 inch and the rear tires are 245-60-14 and are all new, the actual miles on this car are 45082 and the are ORIGINAL MILES, the gauges all work however the speedometer is not accurate because of the change of rear end gears, the factory AM radio is still mounted to preserve the original look, however there is a CD radio installed under the dash again to preserve the interior, and finally when I bought this car the original hood did not have the hood scoops, so I purchased another hood and the original Chrysler scoops from ebay and had them mounted. I had the hood repainted and it looks ok but it does not match perfectly, however the original hood without the scoops are included in the sale (as pictured) and it does match perfectly. The only thing i would do to this car would be to purchase the power front disc brake conversion kit so the car would have better stopping power than the original drum brakes. The car looks great , sounds great and runs great. I have the original owners manuel and the production broadcast sheet. The car also has factory tinted window which you do not see that often, It will be pretty hard to pic this car apart since the condition is amazing. The car is being sold as-is just like all of my cars are sold on Ebay. It is located in Coal Township, Pa 17866. There will be a $200 deposit required at the end of the sale. The shipping and transfers fees will be the purchasers costs. If you have any questions please email me. Thank you and happy bidding!
